Canadian_F_H
OK this is driving me nuts. People say the old terminator captain looks off size wise but I can't find a side by side picture anywhere... I'm talking about the one with his storm bolter at eye level shooting, while his power sword is at the ready... Some body on here must have in their possession, the old terminator captain, the limited edition terminator captain, and a terminator sgt from the current plastics... I would love a picture of all 3 side by side... Thank you. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317453-terminator-side-by-side/ Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
He's perfectly-formed, but small by modern standards - an elegant weapon, for a more civilised age. And obviously so, even with a built-up base. I don't have the SFU Captain, but you should be familiar with at least a few of these: http://cdn.lightbringers-space-marines.net/wip/tc1.jpg http://cdn.lightbringers-space-marines.net/wip/tc2.jpg Fully-painted, from table-top level, in the heat of battle, I don't think he looks weird or out of place. But there's no disguising it up close where it's easy to make a direct comparison. jlmb_123
I think he looks alright, it's one of my favourite SM models. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317453-terminator-side-by-side/#findComment-4259287 Share on other sites
Canadian_F_H
Thanks. "Aren't you a little short for a...n astartes?". Lol. I agree tho he is one of my favorite terminator sculpts. And for being from way back in the dark ages of early 3rd edition (was he available in 2nd even?). Definitely one of the better sculpts back then by far. Lucien Eilam
He was a 1998 release, IIRC. Not 100% sure which side of the 3rd ed release he fell, but he owes more to 2nd edition in style and size. Cloud Runner
99% sure he was post introduction of 3rd Ed release. Love this mini in so many ways and wish they'd release a multi-part version that could be made into this, like the Chaos Termi lord. Still, kit-bashing is much more fun IMO :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317453-terminator-side-by-side/#findComment-4259371 Share on other sites
jlmb_123
I remember when this came out, it was the first year of 3rd edition, when I was about 12 and couldn't afford toy soldiers so just stared at White Dwarf instead. I think he was a January 1998 release, in the "Black Gobbo" edition which had some wicked army deals. Damn, I wish I was young. And rich. And in 1998 but with modern amenities such as broadband, micro-breweries and pesto.
