Big orders are always a mixed blessing for me. On one hand, you're like 'aw yesh! so many new toys!', but on the other hand you're like 'ah crap, I have to do so much work before they're all done...'. smile.png

BTW, wouldn't it have been cheaper to get the Execution Force box instead of buying the assassins separately?

Yeah probably but the thing was I didn't want the rest of the stuff and seemed like a waste.

So true but once it's built most if not all of this will end up as my ETL vow for this year to make sure I get it done. Especially when I already have built but unpainted

2 tactical squads

2 magnetised assault squads

1 10 man death company squad

2 converted FW sanguinary priests

FW Fellblade

Astorath

Vindicare

Drop Pod

Hopefully nothing else will pop out and say "buy me!"

So ive been really lax with this build thanks to course after course at work, however im only a devastator squad to be built, short of a fully built and undercoated BA 2nd company. Pics to follow this evening.

I have to say that the FW Fire Raptor was a total pig to build and i almost lost the will a few times. Broken bits, warped sides urgh! In comparison the Sicaran and the Fellblade were relatively straight forward.

However i now have more money to spend and not sure what to buy next for the BA, any ideas?

Thanks guys sorry about the lack of pics i managed to drop my phone at Tesco petrol station and destroy the screen, so waiting for it to come back from the repair centre so i can get the pics off it (broke the connection port as well grrrr)

Managed to build and paint the Fellblade, 2 sanguinary priests, Fire Raptor, Astorath The Grim and A Sicaran recently.

Ive also invested in the Blood Angels Deathwatch guy to act as a veteran sergeant for one of my new assault companies, there will be fluff for him when its done (working out the magnetising of back packs). Also bought the BaC chaplain to add in as another chaplain.

Thinking about redoing the army from what i originally planned. The new idea is to build the following

BLOOD ANGELS

- Full 1st Company which will be a 30k/40k crossover. 40 Terminators in squads of 5. Each squad will have a purpose (ie new style terminators will be Space Hulk style boarding specialists, Cataphractii style will be for fluff based veteran terminators etc). 40 Vanguard Veterans (all JP based). 20 Sternguard. Each squad will have a transport, so drop pods, Spartan Assault carriers, Land Raiders, Cesstus Ram and of course the new stormbird and mastodon. Various characters like a Praetor, Master of Signals and of course the special characters that FW will release.

- Full 2nd Company Almost finished, all built just need the painting complete.

- Demi 8th Company

- Demi 9th Company (including stuff like Deredo, Siege Dreads, Centurions etc

- Demi 10th Company (Hate the scout models so will be lots of conversions here using marine and AM parts)

- Sanguinary Guard (have 10 already, 5 finished) Awaitng the inevitable FW guard which will double the number

- Death Company 1 squad in Rhino, 1 squad in Stormraven, 1 squad in Land Raider and 3 Dreads 1 in a pod

Still going to do the Astra Militarium and the Imperial Knights as well as the Dark Angels but no longer sure on a huge mechanicum army. Cool models but just not sure.

Wow - Just wow!

Models look great! What is your recipe for red? I kind of like the darker, more dirty and gritty reds you have.

I use Mephiston red first then wash all over with nuln oil. I then use Evil Sunz scarlet to paint the red leaving the nuln oil in the recesses. Finally I wash again with nuln oil and edge highlight with troll slayer orange. I ardcoat it then use lahmium medium to dull it but leave a few spots shiney to give it random shine or spots which are wet depending on the base

Another quick update guys, say hello to the newest FW addition to the army

Fire Raptor designate "318 Baal's Flame"

Also i decided to treat myself to my first terminator squad for the beginning of my 1st company build. 5 terminators fro the Space Hulk game bought off eBay
