Boyka
Hey all, getting back into the game and trying to piece together an army that I'll be able to flexibly swap chapter tactics around with. With that in mind I've gone for a fairly bold colour scheme, and was hoping for some criticisms of the look I've gone for! In the following pictures I still need to dust the wheels and front part of the bike, as well as apply nicks and scratches to both the bike and the rider. As it is I suck at getting whites to be nice and flat, and need to work on getting the lenses coloured much cleaner. Thanks for your time! http://i.imgur.com/LlcanRK.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mCCIJHh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ODKFxtk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CE6Vde0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/j5zGT7s.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8KIc9Nn.jpg And sorry about the photo quality, phone cameras etc... helterskelter
Very smooth blue/green colour, its nice. I also can't comment on white as I Drybrush 90% of my whites to get the desired effect :p looks pretty good though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317491-custom-space-marines-cc-please/#findComment-4260233 Share on other sites
Raktra
Hmm, it's the same as the old store army in Newcastle. Ah, nostalgia. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317491-custom-space-marines-cc-please/#findComment-4260237 Share on other sites
Olis
Fairly safe and solid colour scheme. I think the choice of colours is good - but then, white goes with everything. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317491-custom-space-marines-cc-please/#findComment-4260250 Share on other sites
Brother Kirus
Well, since you asked for comments… I like the colors you chose for your chapter. I always thought that chapter painted with this color should have Maya/Aztec feel to them… That being said, it looks like you work of black primer and this color is quite light. I would recommend trying white primer and do the shading with blue/greenblue washes… Just a suggestion. Res Ipsa Loquitur
Solid painting, nice colours, but... he looks like a San Jose Shark. Boyka
Thanks for the comments guys, now for a small update! Cleared up the whites, using a bottle of medium. They're still a bit lumpy, but the rest of them will be nice and smooth! Not sure how I feel about the dust on the bike/rider. I simply dry brushed in streaks from the ground up at about 45 degrees roughly where you'd expect dust to go, but I'm not sure how much I like it.
