Sicaran venetator or rapier vindicator?

I am planing to get one one of the two. Well, I would use both but my heavy support is running thin...sicaran, fire raptor etc. And I will probably run my rapier laser batteries as thud guns to counter blobbing and they aint half bad for some at.

I thought that I could run squadrons of rapier vindicators but saw that they are only 1 per hs. Even though venetator is almost 50% more expensive than vindicator, he can counter super heavy if I ever face one. Btw. What does ordnance 2 do? 2 shots and I roll 2 dice for pen and pick highest? I can still drive 12'' and fire main gun?

Which one you like more? Venetator does look more pretty! And is probably a bit stronger for at?

Venator all day long. Ordnance 2 is 2 shots. For each shot you get 2 dice to pen

Forcing snap shots is the real icing on the cake. If you choose to take sponsons take the Heavy bolters as they are cheaper and can only snap fire. Helps with a weapon destroyed result.

Ventator for sure, it's far more maneuverable, basically the same damage output as the laser vindicator and forcing snap shots is a great ability. Sponsons are not really worth, if you're worried about weapon destroyed results just take a combi bolter.

I'd say I'm disappointed with my venator about 80% of the time... it's good when it works but I find that a rarity. Either missing all together, failing to pen or penning and not doing enough on the damage table.

Flare shields you still need a 6, super heavies a 5/6.

Still like I said when it works, you kind of forget about all the bad much like an abused housewife does when she takes her man back....

Well, no one has spartan in my club except me, so no flare shields. With each shot there is at least 33% chance to pen, so not bad at all. And I do like the model a bit more than vindi. If only vindi was able to be in squadrons like 40k variant, then it would be much more worthwhile. Tnx for advice, you made my choice easier!
