Billy Butcher
Brothers, more world eaters are beginning. Question though, I am using BaC to start, and will obviously be wanting chainaxes. There a way to have the models carrying them without buying new arms? Been thinking about cutting the left hand off and rotating 90, then fitting a chainaxe into the palm, not sure what It'd look like though. Any ideas? Apostle of the 30th Host
Hmm, I have Betrayal at Calth too, so was just looking through the sprues to see if there is any possible way of doing it. Unfortunately there is almost no options for held close combat weapons other than on the sergeants. To be honest, I'm not sure there is. Rotating the Bolter left hands is a good idea, but I don't think it would look right unfortunately as the hand won't be gripping it. There are a couple of alternatives though: - Each Sprue come with a Power Sword and a Chainsword so that is six suitable hands you can add axes to. And 3 arms. - Spare 40k SM arms/hands. If you happen to have any, particularly Chaos which all come with CCW options, or the newer SM kits which have lots of left hands that might work. Just swapping the hand could work so they are holding the weapon, although only using those Bolter arms could limit posing. - FW might update the axes with hands like they have all the guns. - Some could have the axes at their waist like the ccws in the box? - getting hold of a Fantasy Marauders/new Khorne AoS kit could give you some nice options for bare arms if you like that look. One box will probably do for everyone to get a nice mix of bare arms. If it's of any interest to you, I know I have a load of 40k SM and CSM arms going spare. Feel free to pm me if you want them - although they are not MKIV arms, depends on if you're bothered by that. Also have some pistol arms too I think so all their right hand weapons don't have to be held across their chest. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317550-bac-how-to-fit-chainaxes/#findComment-4261560 Share on other sites
LongGone
Look for the Phobos chainaxe set on FW. Clearly designed with the XIIth Legion in mind. They come with the hand modeled on them already and are designed for use with the despoiler and assault squad sets. They'll work with BaC, but the posing will be a little wonky, as I think the axes are all right handed, and that'll leave your guys holding their axes in front of their faces. Kizzdougs
You can achieve a bunch of different arm poses if you just cut the arm off below the shoulder and rotate it slightly. This stops the "axe in front of their faces" problem. That's what I've done with my B@C experiments so far. It allows you to give your legionaries much more open poses that their regular bolter wielding arms would usually allow. These three warriors all have regular bolter arms that have been repositioned under the shoulder. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN3967_zpskryiupeq.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN3891_zps4hr6vlvz.jpg http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN3897_zps3cmnljgg.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317550-bac-how-to-fit-chainaxes/#findComment-4261852 Share on other sites
