Question about Heresy Era Rhinos

Hello,

I'm planning to add 3 Rhinos to my World Eaters Traitor force, time stage Istvaan III. Do i have to use the Deimos Pattern ones to stay historically correct or are the ordinary GW Rhinos also okay? I already trough several articles and could't find an answer, perhaps i missed out on something. Can anyone assist me? would be delighted.

Happy holidays and new year from Austria

Both are fine! The normal 40k style ones ('Mars pattern') were not as common as the Deimos, but did exist and were used by the Legions. There is an Iron Warriors Mars Pattern rhino featured in Book 3: Extermination.

that^^ also Deimos pattern were technically better, but Mars were easier to produce/manufacture ^^

It's quite clever really. This way, 30k maintains its unique aesthetic - and you are encouraged to use weapons/vehicles from the era that you are playing in - but can still use your plastic tanks if you don't want to fork out the money. Everybody wins

They are both common, but for heresy era Deimos is slightly more common. After Istvaans actions Mars is more common.
