Astra militarum (+ space marine allies) anti SM list?

Okay.. So I am playing a buddy with my new AM versus his Black templars on a 48x48 1000 point game

 

Right now i have the following painted and ready

 

HQ: pask with punisher + HB sponson (for anti infantry and light vehicles)

LR BT HB sponsons (split fire order from pask if needed) both with dozers

 

Troops: inf platoon, pcs with vox and flamer and 20 men 2 flamers, 1 vox + commisar

 

Heavy: wyvern battery

 

Fast: vendetta + banewolf

 

Which should i use or should i use all of it?

 

And i know i need two troops but we agreed that i Can bring a SM ally to make up for it :)

 

And which SM allies should i bring? ( i have 6000 points so i pretty much have everything if needed)

HQ: Pask in a Punisher is the classic setup. Keep in mind he's good but massively expensive, him and a properly kitted buddy will easily break 400 points. I can't recommend heavy bolter sponsons on the MBT; they snapfire if you fire the main gun.

 

Troops: Pretty standard infantry platoon setup. I recommend blobbing up your squads if you want to use the Commissar.

 

Fast Attack: Like Pask, the Vendetta is good but rather expensive. Not sure you want almost 1/5 your points in a flyer that may not come in for a while. Banewolf is weird, but in this context I'd take it (assault-oriented power armor army.)

 

Heavy Support: Wyverns are great and dirt cheap. Take it.

 

What I'd do is kit out a min CAD of Space Marines (Libby, 2 squads of Tacs) and add your Pasknisher, infantry platoon, Banewolf, and Wyvern as an allied detachment.

 

Side note: in my experience there's little reason to not give Pask a lascannon, unless you're going full light infantry grinder.

I would always give Pask a Lascannon and Multi-Melta sponsons, especially if he's in a Punisher.  Because he makes the Punisher Gatling Cannon rending, it seems a waste to not make his other weapons all high strength low AP stuff as well.  That way there's no target in the game that he' can't effectively engage with every weapon on his tank - Every weapon can hurt both AV14 and T10 if you need it too.  It'd be a different story if you didn't have to shoot all weapons at the same target (though I suppose you could do some shenanigans with an Enginseer handing out Power of the Machine Spirit).

Okay so give pask lascanon and multimetlas check!

Maybe remove the vendetta and replace LRMBT with a vanqusiher so i still get som anti vehicle?

 

Banewolf is maybe a little expensive?

 

So an AM ally detachment of

 

Pask in punisher with lascanon and melta sponsons - anti inf and vehicles

Buddy LR vanquisher with lascanon - anti vehciles

 

20 man blop 2 flamers, vox + commisar - for obj

 

Wyvern - anti inf

 

And then the mail detachment of SM.?

Vanquisher is maybe overkill against what Marines generally take? Against Marines you want numbers to survive, especially if they use things like drop pods to close quickly. We have plenty of AP3 around so it can often be a case of getting them out of their metal boxes fast enough. The Banewolf can wipe out entire squads, make sure to use its threat as much as the cannon itself :tu:

my list so far is

SM detachment

Libby - 65 (considereing changing as I am playing against black templars...)

5 man tac squad with gravcanon in razorback -160 (maybe gravcanons are too expensive for 1000 point list..?)

5 man tac squad with gravcanon in razorback - 160

in all 385 points

and then AM allies

Pask in punisher with lascanon and multimelta sponsons

and his buddy Vanquisher with lascanon and heavyflamer sponsons (flamers for anti deepstrike and vanquisher gun and lascanon for getting him out of his tranports) - 395

20 man blop with 2 flamers and vox (for sitting on objectives)

PCM with flamer and vox - 155

and Wyvern - 65

all in all 1000 points...

Also given that you're up against marines, grav cannons might not be the best option. Unless he's running heavy on terminators, the grav cannons are going to be wounding on 3's, and are weak against vehicles. It's your choice. I would run Templars with a 16 man crusader squad and a 14 man crusader squad with an Emperor's Champion in land raider crusaders. That's 1000 points even, and all of them have pistol/ccw. That's a really nasty close combat list, and I recommend you assume that's what he'll bring, unless you know for a fact he can't field it, and choose to counter it with lots of high strength heavy weapons, to get through that AV14 box.
