Emperor's Furor
I don't have these paints at the moment which is a problem but I have an image in my head and was wondering if it would work. I wanted to do a lighter scheme for a heresy era Ultramarine force. I was thinking of using a white primer, then air brush Caledor Sky with a Forgeworld Calth Blue Clear over it, do you think it would work or would it be a little to far away from the original scheme or just not work full stop? Atia
Just a little tip (that's also what FW says btw): Don't use white primer. Use black one and a second coat of grey, that works better imo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317594-heresy-ultramarines-different-shade/#findComment-4262725 Share on other sites
Emperor's Furor
Ok I'll probably leave it then, I'm struggling to decide what to do with my Betrayal at Calth so I'm going through the motions. Atia
Here is a good video about painting your army and primers (it's Mark from FW) the quality isn't the best, just listen to it :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317594-heresy-ultramarines-different-shade/#findComment-4262759 Share on other sites
Kaedes Nex
Light blue Ultramarines look way better than the darker/cobalt blue that FW and 6E GW has gone with. If you look at old artwork like 2E, Ultramarines were almost pastel blue. Just be warned, they won't look as badass as darker marines, even if you throw plenty of dirt, wounds, and blood on them since they'll just be so bright.
