Raven Guard

Hello everyone.

Over the last few weeks i've come into aquire two boxes of the betrayal at Calth sets, and in that time i've been working to decide what legion i want to move the power armored figures towards. Seeing that i already have a chaos force of Iron Warriors, i figured i would go with loyalists. I was for a while between two legions, but at this point, as im sure you can tell by the title of the thread, I've decided to lean more towards the direction of the Raven Guard to become my second legion.

Now this is where i feel myself starting to run into some trouble in coming up with a list, and even simply the starting assembly. Lets start with one thing at a time, Assembly. I dont want to just use the stock models, i want to make them look part of the legion, but the only upgrades are for Corvus armour, not the Maximus, does anyone have any suggestions or work arounds for this?

The army itself. I want to lean more towards a close combat feel, so aside from taking some dark furies, im not sure what else in the LA:CAL lends itself towards melee as opposed to laying down a hail of bolter rounds.

You should not feel limited by a choice between Maximus and Corvus.  The XIX were one of the first Legions that were given Corvus but they would also have had significant amounts of Maximus and other marks on hand.  What ever mix % you were forced to play with would still be Fluffy for the XIX.  You could still use the Bolters in the LA :CAL box with even a aggressive XIX list.  Tactical type Marines are the most fluffy unit in even a XIX legion list, Even if its just one unit with others all jump type.  The Dred is also good.  They might not have had many but they did have some.   The Terminators.... might be a bit of a stretch.
