Loyalty & Treachery to return!

Captain Semper

Recommended Posts

White Scars Zone Mortalis Force

Praetor in Cataphractii Armour

5 terminators

Dreadnought

3 Jetbikes

3 Jetbikes.

And just because I have to do something boring among all that fun stuff I'm going to thow in a tactical squad.

Really want to try and write some fluff to go along with all of them aswell.

Captain Semper I'm suprised you not doing a 1st Legion pre heresy force. We know where your loyalty lies....

BIG PICTURE

...trying to decide between two choices...

Wars of Unification Army List - one of every unit
HQ Legion Praetor: Legion Commander Amadeus DuCaine (1)
EL Legion Terminator Squad (5)
EL Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (5)
EL Legion Destroyer Squad (5)
TR Legion Tactical Squad (10)

TR Legion Assault Squad (10)
TR Legion Despoiler Squad (10)
TR Legion Breacher Siege Squad (10)
FA Legion Seeker Squad (5)

Great stuff!

@ Ironwithout: I love the jet bike models and seeing them in pure white is something to look forward to! cool.png

@ Rashbold: Shattered Legions seems somewhat more appealing to me given the support they have (and will have). The Unification Wars are in the realm of the "exotic" for me! :P Plus I really love the Xth legion... If only the DAs were not black in 30k I'd definitely had a go with them...

C'mon, what else?

The Bigger Picture is to get my 1.5k list off the ground. I'd like to have something to game with if the need ever arises, although I very much doubt it will at this point. I have some models built, some that aren't, others that I need to order, and others that I'm in the process of painting now for my list. We'll see how it all turns out.

Anyway, this is roughly what I plan to vow:

Apothecarion Detachment

-Apothecary

 +Power Sword

 +Augury Scanner

-Apothecary

 +Augury Scanner

Veteran Squad [10]

-Sergeant

 +Artificier Armour

 +Power Fist

 +Plasma Pistol

 +Melta Bombs

-Flamer

-Heavy Bolter

-Legion Vexilla

Breacher Squad [10]

-Sergeant

 +Artificer Armour

 +Thunder Hammer

 +Melta Bombs

-Flamer [2]

-Legion Vexilla

I still have to order the Apothecaries and the Breacher Squad. Luckily, the Veteran Squad is halfway complete because this is going to strain me a bit- the building and painting in the timeframe. It needs to get done because, if not, I'll lose focus and then shelve these guys until next Winter.

So after taking a bit of a think for a while, I am going to run with the Death Guard. Although I need to place my order in for some new stuff on Monday.

the plan at the moment anyway is:

- Calas Typhon

- 10 man veteran tactical squad

- 10 man tactical squad

- 5 Deathshroud

However as of about 10 minutes ago, apparently my Perturabo order had a nice surprise in which was a free Medusa? So I am more than likely going to chuck that in too.

Looks promising - what sort of skill will you use for the vets? And most importantly, what Legion?

I have an Acheron and Atrapos knight that I got just one layer of leadbelcher on sleep.png

Is it still possible to pledge? Lol I want to start painting now tongue.png

The event is not on yet, but judging from the eagerness of some (myself included) I'm tempted to start early! :o

The L&T will kick-off on Jan 15th so work out the units you intent to use, assemble them and even prime them, but you should wait a couple of weeks (less than that actually) to start painting.. ;)

have a ton of stuff ready to paint -- enough so that the task of figuring out what to paint is somewhat numbing.

I collect Mechanicum as well, but already have a nicely-sized force painted, so I'm torn between Imperial Fists and Alpha Legion at the moment. ALL of the following has been assembled and primed.

IF:

40 breachers

20 phalanx warders

10 cataphractii with storm shields

Polux

10 Templars

Sigismund

Caestus

Librarian with Templar iconography (obviously an Alpha Legion infiltrator -- or is he?)

3 contemptor dreads

deredeo dread

2 proteus land raiders

2 medusa artillery tanks

2 vindicators

whirlwind scorpius

various and sundry praetors and centurions (including MoS, champion, forge lord)

AL:

5 jet bikes (a 6th is already painted as a test model, but I haven't decided whether or not to make a command squad)

15 assault

15 more assault

10 veterans

10 more veterans

10 tactical support with meltaguns

3x Anvillus

fire raptor

deathstorm drop pod

3 contemptor dreads

proteus land raider with augury web

various and sundry praetors and centurions

glaive

Mechanicum:

6 castellax

40 adsecularis

12 thallax

triaros

2 krios

1 krios venator

9 myrmidon destructors

3 myrmidon secutors

falchion

Questoris Knights:

questoris knight errant

questoris knight magaera

questoris knight styrix

Unassigned:

80 tactical

20 heavy support

15 cataphractii

all the other crap I have but can't think of -- just now I thought of several regular drop pods, a dreadnought drop pod, a couple of rhinos, a couple of lightnings ... AAAAAAUGH!!!

Right now, I'm tempted to do either:

AL:

10 veterans (close combat) with Anvillus

10 veterans (ranged) with Anvillus

10 tactical support (melta or plasma) with Anvillus

or

IF:

Polux

20 phalanx warders

10 cataphractii with storm shields

However, I'm open to suggestions as long as it's on my list.

edit: I really do know the difference between an Achilles and an Anvillus, I promise. Ugh.

After having a quick glance, they'll probably go with Outflank. That way they'll have a shot at getting closer to the enemy sooner as everyone is footslogging it.

As to the question of what Legion: Death Guard all the way. They're Traitors but only because their last order before getting their communication equipment smashed in the void was to meet up with the fleet at Isstvan III. Now they pretty much kill anyone out of paranoia of not knowing who to trust because of what they saw in the aftermath. That's a lot of useless information, now that I think of it. Feel free to disregard.

@ Krikey: Whoa, what a collection! Now keep in mind that for L&T the minimum is three units. You can as many as you like and there are rewards depending on your achievement! :)

@ Mehman: Not at all useless - that's the point of L&T: to bring all aspects of the hobby together! ;) Now I want to try a "white" legion myself, but I'm torn between DG and WE... The Vth is out of the question for me - not before we see them in a book... Also, too white! :P

Well this is fun! My target is to get a 1,500 pts force of WBs.

Big Picture:

HQ:

Praetor in terminator armour (from B@C)

+ Pride of the Legion

+ Terminator Command squad (from B@C)

Chaplain (Kurtha Sedd)

Troops:

Veteran Tacticals (From B@C) x2

Elites:

Gal Vorbak (not even bought yet)

Most likely I'll be pledging the highlighted entries although I may change my mind until them! :P

Also it's impossible to include just a Praetor and a Diabolist in the WB army, correct?

I've been pretty steadily adding to my Ordo Reductor anyway, but who doesn't love a deadline to get motivated? biggrin.png

I'm thinking I'll pledge:

1 x Minotaur Artillery Tank

2 x Basilisk for my Artillery Tank Battery

6 x Thallax (2x Multi-Melta)

I just need to decide if I want to pick up another SA Basilisk or use an IG one I have lying around.

Can I have honorary induction into the Adeptus Brewicus if I post my painting progress with craft beer in it? biggrin.png

Induction by induction? Well, induction brewing is an electromagnetic process which transfers heat energy directly to a ferromagnetic kettle. Just the way the Omnissiah designed it for us!

@Captain Semper: Yeah, exotic would be a bit of a distraction. Shattered Legion it is! Thanks. Now to skulk through some HH stories for descriptions of Shadrack Meduson. If only that Meduson anthology was readily available.

Ooh! Start early! Do it... But either way I'll try and contribute to this. I'll be leaving for the semester on the 17th, but I'll see if I can sneak in a 5 man Iron Havoc squad that's staring me down at the moment...

;) induction by inebriation. Or the other way around.

...."And lo, the Adeptus Brewicus was created, and it's first magos and Archmagos applied the fruits of their labor directly to their tri-pump osmotic livers. And there was much rejoicing."

So let's hear about your planned projects, what you guys are going to pledge and what is the bigger picture?

In terms of the bigger picture, and how my pledge fits into it, it's mainly trying to finish things I may otherwise neglect or get stuck on when distracted by other commitments, in the hope they can be ready for future! I realised that I've got around 10k of Death Guard Heresy related goodness, but most of the painted items there centre around Contemptors and Terminators, this year will be on Troops and other bits of support - to start with the Primarch, and perhaps the Glaive and maybe a Deredeo, seems sensible and offers some tactical flexibility for larger games too.

I'm most excited to paint Mortarion - hope I can do him justice!

Myself I have

Two, ten man tactical squads

Two, five man heavy weapon squads

Six man terminator squad

Contemptor dread talon three of them

Terminator commander

Techmarine

Apothecary

Also have a Storm Eagle and a Sicaran tank on the way from my wife for a Christmas present

Of course you can do him justice! One of a few painters that could msn-wink.gif!

Well look who's here! pirate.gif

L&T aims to steel your commitment against other distraction - even if said distractions come form FW and even if they are about your preferred Legion! So I think you've come to the right place!

Now about that Mortarion... ;)
