Loyalty & Treachery to return!

As it stands, I will probably take this opportunity to start up a small IX legion force. Did a jump-praetor for the Boxing Day challenge and got inspired.

Units as they lie in bits at the moment:

Primus Medicae in artificer armour

10 veteran tacticals

Another 10 veteran tacticals

5 support marines

//Nevindar of Baal

My big picture 2.5k

HQ

Sevatar

Troops

10 man terror squad x2

5 man terror squad

Elites

Apothecary x2

Contemptor

Contemptor Mortis

5x Terminators

Fast Attack

8x Night Raptors

Heavy Support

Sicaran

LOW

Night Haunter

Going to try for the apothecaries, Contemptor, and one terror squad. Going to save Space Batman for the ETL.

@ nevindar: I have to admit that the BA upgrade pack (don't know if you gonna use it) is one of the best in the range for me. Sorry it's not the case for the DA upgrades... :( Let's see those vets coming in! :woot:

I have:

Zardu Layak

Blade Slaves

Praevian

Sicaran Battle Tank

also thinking of ordering a Primaris Lightning soon, wonder if that would get here in time.

And I'm jealous! (Not for the Praevian mind you)!

@ Sabadin: that's exactly the spirit of this event! It may even serve as a warm-up to the ETL!

Unit breakdown- (aka all my HS slots)

Legion Medusa

Legion Scorpius

Legion Scorpius

Possibly the rest of my Legion Support Squad with Calivers. Could I include them if the torsos are painted only?

I see quite a few tanks there... :tu: regarding the support squad, I'd say yes.

Oh this is perfect to get me to finish the B@C dread I've been mulling over... And to kick off my vow, I'll show off what I'm gonna put off painting till the 15th:

Question before I commit my goal: if we finish our vow can we add more later?

Well, you shouldn't feel limited... The bottom line is you need to complete at least three legal units until the end of the event. You may even start-off pledging a single unit and add new ones as you go along. You may even exceed the three unit minimum limit and continue undaunted to do as many as you like. The only limitation is to be legal units and of course painted to the best of your ability.

So the answer to the question is yes. :)

Good time to be starting my iron warriors! Curently to do is sicaran, deredeo and perturabo! 3 months is a nice timescale too with opportunity to add more units with the new book dropping in between

Edit: as pertty will be an ongoing project doing bits here and there...is it possible to pledge a new unit even when one is still in the works?

Well it looks like this is timed perfectly for me to start working on my Alpha Legion.

I have the B@C box (although I've already done the Contemptor as a test model) and a bunch of Alpha Legion Forge World bits to get me started.  I've also got a Sicarian Venator ready to assemble but my goal is at least the Terminators and two units of Infantry from the box.

Roll on the 15th

Cheers

Ok, let me clarify this:

The aim is to build at least three legal units. You can do more if you like, there is no limit. When you'll pledge them is totally up to you as long as it's during the life of the event. And you don't have to declare them all at the same time either. As long as you end up with three painted units by the end of the event , you'll have met the L&T challenge.

So a lot of freedom...

I might consider this. The Drowned was a concept I had for an Alpha Legion based Chapter in 40k who stayed loyal (getting a princely Scout Squad and a Thunderfire primed before I remembered I hate painting), but since became a part of the brotherhood pof the lost setting and the colour scheme matches it to some extent. I may well join in with this;

- 20x Breachers

- 20x Scouts with Bolters (acting as Militia)

- 2x Hades Breaching Drills (acting as Cyclops)

Probably won't end up painting a thing though as usual with time work and family in the way

XD

Big picture for me is 2k of Raven Guard by end of year.

Already have chaplain done and completing first tac squad.

I'll Pledge:

5 Mor Deytan Strike Squad

5 Tac Support Squad w/Volkite Caliver

(once I see how long this takes, I'll pledge third unit)

Wait, I just thought, do the units have to be from the same army/Legion? If so, no Fulgrim for this.

Not at all! All that is required is to make legal units that can be used as is in a game! Whether it's one or many Legions is up to you.

Alright, so for my AL startup I am pledging:

10 man Tac squad (rogue trader era marines just because)

1 Preator

5 Cataphracti

After I will aim for:

Armillus Dynat

Sicarran

10 Man Tac

I paint as slow as molasses, but i will try and get as much in as possible.

I would like to enter this too.

I will pledge from my own garrison:

1 Centurion and 2 ten man tac squads from BAC to start as the beginning of my heresy army. Been putting it off for way to long. Only problem now is which legion. I narrowed it down to two. Death guard or Iron warriors. Both have pros and cons I am struggling with and now only have till friday to decide. It's more down to cool colour scheme as I like both play styles and fluff. Anyone able to sway me perhaps to either one. Just a nudge is all thats needed. happy.png
