Kastor Krieg
I have a magnetized set of 5 Cataphractii. I'd like the weapons to be interchangeable, but I only have 5 sets of pads. I can do two of the following - either use Indomitus pads or glue the Cataphractii pads directly to the torso and just exchange the arms. Since I'm not really too much of a fan of the Cataphractii style pads, I'm on the fence here. Help? :PHere's a bluetac mockup of more or less how the Indomitus pads look on a Cata, I think it's quite cool. http://i.imgur.com/aNqEKEQ.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317802-cataphractii-with-fixed-pads-or-indomitus-pads/ Share on other sites
Kriegsmacht
I like the pads. I know it's the blutac sticking them up higher but I like that they do. It looks like he's about to tackle someone to the ground or grab someone to give a powerslam. Bryan Blaire
I don't see anything wrong with it personally, and we know that armor uses exchanged parts some times, especially in 40K, why not Terminator armor. Bottom or top layer inner edge? Bottom or top layer inner edge? I glued the two parts of the pad together, there's a way to do it so that they are level, you just need to trim the little studs off the inside. I'll put up a pic later this afternoon. Kastor Krieg
Another question then - does any company make Cataphractii compatible pads? Puppetswar maybe? Grotsmasha
Carlson's thread, The Forges of Mars, has a super-comprehensive list, they'll be in there....somewhere..... Kastor Krieg
OK, will look, thanks. In the meantime, unable to make my mind and without resources for a permanent solution either way, I've bluetacked the Cata pads to the Cata termies and called it a day :v http://i.imgur.com/u3zfDHz.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317802-cataphractii-with-fixed-pads-or-indomitus-pads/#findComment-4267943 Share on other sites

Noserenda
Those Indomnitus pads on cataphracts look pretty good actually, i may steal that idea.. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317802-cataphractii-with-fixed-pads-or-indomitus-pads/#findComment-4268159 Share on other sites
Halandaar
Those Indomnitus pads on cataphracts look pretty good actually, i may steal that idea.. I was thinking of using the spare Cataphractii claws on a squad of 40k Assault Terminators so it's good to know that the indomitus pads fit :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317802-cataphractii-with-fixed-pads-or-indomitus-pads/#findComment-4269236 Share on other sites
Kastor Krieg
"Fit" is saying too much, but the do go onto these arms. Worst case, you can switch shoulders to Indomitus. Well, I was hoping to simply add Indomitus shoulderpads straight on to the Cataphractii claw arms. I presume with a bit of trimming of the shoulder it should be easy enough? Kastor Krieg
Yeah, you can achieve more or less the above, the left one sits high on a ball of blutack. Generally they "fit", as in go onto the arm. In some cases, the "fitting" is more awkward than in others and you'd have to tilt them closer to the torso, for example.
