Seeker Squads?

Emperor's Furor

My copy of the Legions book doesn't have a melta-bomb for the Sergeant.

Seeker squads are a very niche unit in my opinion. They aren't the most effective source of Plasma in a legion army, and function best when arriving out of a Drop Pod or Infiltrating so they can get in the best position to use their alpha strike. Unlike 40K Sternguard their Special Ammo types are only marginally useful (Hellfire Rounds are sorely missed) and their Scorpios round is difficult to use if you want any sort of mobility. Realistically, I'd only use them in certain specific legions like Sons of Horus (Dreadclaws and Banestrike Rounds), Alpha Legion (Infiltrate and Banestrike Rounds), or Raven Guard (Infiltrate and Drop Pods). It seems odd though that all three of these legions have their own unique versions of Seeker Squad-like units that seem to fill their role better.

This is really silly.  Why would you ever swap to banestrike rounds?

@Bulba ;Yep, although arguably you'd need to de-mech first, so the rest of your army should include something to rapidly remove HP's. Grav, Medusa, or Fulgrim with Infiltrate Trait to get some MeltaVets imto range ASAP. Killing a Spartan isn't so useful if you're intent on moving into charge range anyway.

However, they are up against Grav Speeders or Javelins.

The difference between BS5 and 6 is negligible, not point in getting a MoS for seekers to boost their BS. Apothecary is needed but always handy if you have the pts, however a rhino is more important so the unit can't be over ten strong apoth included.
