Cigar_of_Nurgle
Hey Readers, I'm starting my first SM army this year. I decided to choose the Minotaur's chapter. I really enjoy their fluff and like their color scheme. A little bit about myself. I've been painting for 15 years now. I have a 10k pt Iron warriors and LAD army and a 8,500 pts Deth Skullz army. I have never used an air brush. I enjoy doing everything by brush. I welcome all C&C and please give me tips where needed. My end goal with my Minotaur chapter is to end up with a 5k pt force. Thanks for following and your time. I will try my best to update this everyday. I have started to project two weeks ago so i can keep pics coming http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp306/The_poxes/Minotaurs/20151130_072753_zpsj27buxt6.jpg http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp306/The_poxes/Minotaurs/20151203_073038_zps39ku0on2.jpg http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp306/The_poxes/Minotaurs/20151203_073050_zpsykt2nph0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318178-starting-sm-minotaurs-for-2016/ Share on other sites

ThatOneMarshal
I'm liking the minotaurs! A large goal I must say to paint 5k. Can't wait to see it all! old git
My intention this year is also to make some good progress on a Minotaurs force (a single tac squad and Moloc done so far). The issue I have with other Minotaur models I've seen done is the verdigris effect in the recesses and joints etc. Verdigris is a result of age, weathering and neglect. Surely a marine maintains his armour so as not to allow that to happen. It just doesn't sit right with me. Surely a marine maintains his armour so as not to allow that to happen. It just doesn't sit right with me. I have to say that when I first started out doing Minotaurs, I made strong use of the verdigris effect but now don't use it at all. Result being I have two halves of an army with different colour schemes. The question for me is whether I can be bothered to re-paint and re-base my old stuff, or simply eBay it and start afresh! On-Topic: Nice start to your army! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318178-starting-sm-minotaurs-for-2016/#findComment-4279017 Share on other sites

I've experience two thing with this scheme with the verdigris effect and its either too much or too little. I choice to a lighter effect on the marines but go heavy on the vehicles . I think of this way were not entirely sure what type or compositions of the paint that they use on their armor so they may use a heavy metal based paints so the aging effect may still occur. I like to paint most of my armies like they were in the midst of battle. That's why my stuff look gritty and not as clean cut as most other armies. so these marines may have not gone back to maintain their armor just yet.
