underdog6750
Hey folks was refered to this site by a gaming friend, basically i am lagging with my painting. I have a really demanding job, a wife and three children. Anyways i have been collecting my XIIth legion for nearly 6 months now and my painting progress is painstakingly slow. Heres a few pictures of what i have achieved so far. 10 complete tac marines and a predator! Here is whats currently in the pipe line; I havnt enjoyed painting an army in my 10 years of gaming like i have this one. There is just so much fluff, background and charachter to the armies. The heresy in general just really appeals to me. I have gone for a predominantly mkVI army set around/just after the Istvaan III campaign. Ill not bother listing what i have as that will be too long and boring. Its somewhere around the 5k points mark. Any ways enough ramblings. My plan is to endevour to update this plog every fortnight with samething even if its just assembled minis. C&C always welome. Im always looking to improve my self as a painter. Feel free to add suggestions, or ask any question you like. Hope you all enjoy :) Underdog Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318319-underdogs-xii-world-eaters/ Share on other sites
Col.hertford
Hi underdog, looks like a nice little force you have there. Love the old RTB01 marines. Keep up the good work! Montuhotep
That's more than I've painted in 2 years! Nice going, I like. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318319-underdogs-xii-world-eaters/#findComment-4279384 Share on other sites
underdog6750
I absolutely love the rtb01s, idea is that they have raided the forge on mars (where the mkVI was manufactured) to continue on there assault on the Emperor and towards terra :) I want them to be really weathered and dirty as lets face it the warhounds did not relent in an assault until there enemies were destroyed. I have a full company (100 marines) plus a plethora of assault vehicles/fliers/dreads and a fellblade. Next to get some paint slapped on will be my xiphon interceptor or Spartan assault tank :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318319-underdogs-xii-world-eaters/#findComment-4279820 Share on other sites
Rangaman
Those old marines definitely make this a unique looking army. Do you mean to say you have 100 marines of the RTB01 variety??? underdog6750
I think around 70-80 rtb01s and then some FW resins like ravager, butchers etc bring the count to just over 100. Thousand Eyes
Liking the old school look of the army with the more current paint job. Bravo on that. The only thing I have to say is the thing hanging off the predator turret, in my opinion, looks real bad. Everything else is done so well it really throws the vehicle off. underdog6750
Yea, that was not my doing, it's lascannon sponsons, or so the ebay seller described them. It was modeled on a ToW launcher system from a modern tank. I'm not a fan myself, but can't find replacements anywhere. The tanks were a really good price that's why I bought them. When funds permit I will but some forge world demios replacements :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318319-underdogs-xii-world-eaters/#findComment-4280098 Share on other sites
underdog6750
So here is some more WIP shots. Just need to add pigments to the Tac squad and a few grass tufts and they are done. Angron has quite a bit more work to do! Very pleased with my progress thus far, my army since joing this forum has doubled in size (for painted minis) Now sitting at 20 marines, 2 predators and a Vindiator. Next up is finishing angron and starting dread 1 of 2 and the first 5 of 10 red butchers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318319-underdogs-xii-world-eaters/#findComment-4291098 Share on other sites
