Sigismund Clear yellow? Anyone tried?

Would anyone be interested in seeing how the FW clear yellow & clear orange look airbrushed in 3 coats over Rub & Buff silver or pewter? I have the full FW airbrush range and could get that up by Friday. May be on not-so-great phone pics though, but I can do my best. I'm kind of curious myself.

OK, so as promised I got to fooling around with some Rub & Buff Silver & the FW clear orange and yellow on some old snap fit chaos marines that I keep as testers.

You can check out the pictures in an imgur gallery here!

First thing's first: I now kind of hate Rub & Buff Silver. The Pewter has a gritty consistency and works well with drybrushing, and I've been using it for a while. However, the silver has a very runny consistency and part of it even separated out and acted like a thinner/paint remover when it got on the brush. Left all kinds of streaking patterns that I didn't bother to touch up, which you'll probably see in the pics. Also put it on a little too thick at first because I was used to the consistency of the Pewter, so the drybrushing effect got screwed up on their pads/chest where I started. Lessons learned.

Anyway, to compensate for that I used some Casandora Yellow and Fuegan Orange on the FW Clear yellow & orange models, respectively, to try and add more defiintion. I also tried a guy with Rub & Buff Pewter and then did 1 coat of the FW clear orange followed by two coats of FW clear yellow just to see how it would look.

My conclusions: use Rub & Buff Pewter and 3 coats of the yellow or orange alone. The orange over R&B Silver looks awful tongue.png Orange followed by yellow, not too bad! This might actually have looked best over the silver, just have to do a better job of the drybrush by watching out for the silver's consistency.

Something else I'd like to see or try: Base black, drybrush R&B Pewter, Casandora Yellow, 3 Sigismund Yellow coats, 1 more Casandora Yellow, gloss varnish, nuln oil. Basically just the WB scheme but swapping Carroburg Crimson & Angron Red for yellows. I think that'd turn out pretty well.
