Hi,

I'm in the process of reading the Horus Heresy books and i'm trying to read them in the order of each overarching campaign (as well as skipping ahead to books that included my favourite legion - the Dark Angels).

I'm currently reading the Ultramarines V Word Bearers story arc and i've read the following novels:

Battle For The Abyss

The First Heretic

Know No Fear

Betrayer (currently reading it)

Unremembered Empire (jumped ahead to read about the Dark Angels)

Just need a bit of advice from the community - should i read Fear To Tread yet or jump straight ahead to Pharos?

I'm not really into the short stories or compilations, but if there is another book in the series that i've totally left out, happy to take that advice on board also.

Thanks in advance!

I would say FTT is not required reading for Pharos, you can read it if you are interested in the BA. As a book FTT was middle tier for me. I know you mentioned you wanted to avoid the short stories but I recommend two short stories if you can get your hands on them through...other channels....

1. Safe and Shadowed place (Features the main Night lords baddies in Pharos)

2. Laurel of Defiance (Features Corvo)

Both are from the same author and does give a better background with their appearance in Pharos. Also I think they are pretty good stories in of themselves. Although Corvo comes across as a complete tight ass...even for a UM and that is saying alot.

I think you'll like Pharos, it is easily one of my favorites now.

Oh I echo the comments about Battle for the Abyss (obviously I like UMs) but I could only read like 30 pages and had to put it down. Worse book eva...
