@Rangaman

Thanks for the praise! And yeah I think the swamp idea might not contrast enough with the models.

@Dantay

That's what I was thinking along the lines of, however, these guys are timeline wise after Molech - I'm leaning more towards destroyed city bases :)

Why not mix the 2?

A cityscape awash with skeletal parts and a dark swampy ooze. All that is left of a populace after being virus bonbed.

Such is the punishment for refusing compliance to the Warmaster :D

This. Just, well, yeah. Do this.

Justaerin look lovely, it's a beautiful black you've got going, Depthcharge. Personally, I would add an extreme edge highlight of some sort, but I doubt that it's really necessary, as they look pretty damn good already. I am so very jealous of Athrawes getting to face this army on the table sometime.

Lol so no joke, I came up with the above cool name for my Reaver chieftain...and guess what name I read about in the new FW book???

Reaver Chieftain Korradon (pg. 62).

No joke how close I came to that name. I actually wrote out a list of Cthonic names (honestly it's just -geddon or -addon with a prefix) and I came up with that name before I read it :P

I don't know whether to be ashamed, surprised, or humored lol. Is Alan Bligh becoming that predictable? Haha

Reaver squad Korradon:

Finally finished painting (until the chains for the skulls get here):

Highlighted lenses, painted faces, picked out facial details.

Next up are the despoilers.

Great, now I wanna play sons of Horus. I love that green. Also those justarian are just brutal.

Thank buddy! I'm trying to shoot for the dark, jade green instead of the super sea green.

Here's a close up - I'm trying to get the gold down but due to a crappy brush I'm having a hard time. On top of that, Gehennas gold is a pain to work with, and I've even tried to use Lahmian medium to thin it out a bit:

Gehenna's Gold does need a fair bit of thinning unfortunately.

It also needs a lot of mixing, or the red really separates out of it. I use water for the golds. For some weird reason, to me it makes them shinier.

Looking good though. Hope you get new brushes soon

@Dantay

Yeah I've tried using the medium and it likes to separate out too which is unfortunate :(

@Viridia

Thanks man! I was trying to do that today but I was running into some issues today. I think I thinned my Lupercal green too much and my guys started turning into that pale green, so they need a redo:

@fire golem

Thanks man! You're always around my threads every now and then and I appreciate that. For my despoilers (and what I'm trying to replicate, but am failing with the reavers) is:

1.) Prime black

2.) base coat everything Lupercal green

3.) zenithial highlight with SoH green

4.) wash with coelia Greenshade

@Cthonia

Thanks! It still needs a highlight, so it is still heavy with the wash on it. Now that I know people are looking at it I'll have to make sure it's spot on and perfect :O

Also, a sneak peak of Justaerin brother bling bling:

He just needs the gold dipped skulls now ;)

Ha, you're welcome :D thanks for the recipe, I'm guessing you used an airbrush then? I need to get one at some point, I think that would go a long way towards speeding up my painting (I hope anyway).

Justaerin looks good too, I also use gold dipped skulls on my SoH, I like that part of their fluff.

Hmmm, so it is splitting. I generally dilute mine 1:1 with water with minmal problems, but then I give mine a good stir with a wooden barbecue skewer and a flipping good shake.

Is it okay on the palette but separating on the model? Could be the brush has water in it. I have noticed that if my GW brushes have been soaking for a while and I dry them off to use, sometimes the paint goes on really watery, I If I notice it, I will just wipe the paint off into the tissue, taking the excess moisture and then start again.

I also tend to use it as a layer over scorched brown or mixed with a little balthasar gold as a highlight

Looks pretty good on the Jusaerin though
