Space hulk tiles for 40k/30k?

A couple of the frater have used the space hulk sections ( two sets put together if I remember) and did a few batreps, seemed to work well.

Not sure how well it'd work now with 32mm base sizes for everyone, but you could say that about the zm tiles themselves

ZM tiles are narrow, yes. But we allow for 2 Marines to stand side by side whether or not their bases spill over the tiles.

Terminators are Space Hulk Style: One in front of the other.

Dreads are, obviously one in front of the other.

ZM works with 32mm bases pretty well ^.^

Edit:

Also, i've played a ZM game using SH tiles - lets say it was doable, but i ordered my real FW ZM after that game xD

Lol space hulk tiles are a bit more in my price range. I'd love to buy fw ones though

What Space Hulk Tiles lack in space vs FW Tiles it makes up for in the pure brutality such confined spaces create.

Its nigh-impossible to spread out for Templates in these types of corridors vs FW Tiles who still have a fair bit of leeway in being able to mitigate them.

It also makes combat a fair bit harder since with Terminator Heavy Armies, since they can only go through the board/map in a Single File, you'll be fighting 1-2 at most at any given time if you position yourself properly whereas power armored bodies will be able to get in 2-4 depending.

This post from Hyaenidae has two links to ZM style games using SH tiles smile.png

I linked to it but Armond's Pictures are dead links now sad.png

I didn't notice that sad.png

Aye, we lost a pretty awesome batrep. Hopefully if/when Armond pops up again he'll be able to reupload them.

Also will just dropp this here - its not mine, but from a dude on warseer (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?218330-Nedius-3D-Space-Hulk-Anphelion-Base), and just an example for what awesome stuff you can do with a bit scratch building - maybe you could make a "broader/true scale" SH board which fits both for ZM and SH games with 40mm bases?

Played today, board looked like on the pic below. We've agreed that we don't mind bases spilling over "into the black", which effectively allows for two 25mm or 32mm bases side by side.

We've also agreed to use the doors in the "Accessible" mode and that the doors can be used as makeshift barricades, where the controlling unit opens them just a bits, sticks weapons through the slit and fires. That's be the "4+ save, GtG give +2" case. All the space gave 6+ because of the nature of the hulk, hiding partially behind a wall gave 5+ save. It all worked really nicely. We've also put down some "barricades" using some markers and the door stand bits. The "Aquila" markers could also be used this way.

Hm. Isn't deep striking a bit difficult on this board? Just curious.
