A second Graviton Gun on your Contemptor's other fist.
Does your Gorgon squad only have 4 guys in it somehow or is it an oddity of whatever you used to generate the army list?

While I'm not a fan of random Drop Pods, that's not my call for your list., and it is a good place for a Leviathan.

Ditch the Lascannons on the Venator, it's Ordnance so they won't be firing much and you get +40pts to play with.

130pts could get you:

  • 3 more Gorgons and some weapons for the squad
  • Some sort of anti-air weapons: Tarantula Battery?
  • A Deathstorm Drop Pod with either weapon type with some to spare
  • Pintle weapons for the Rhinos - maybe multimelta's if they're Outflanking?

If you ditch the Venators Lascannons, you could even get a Mortis Dreadnought as AA.

A few pointers:

- Lascannons are a waste on a venator, as the main weapon is ordance and will cause the lascannons to snapfire.

- I would not bother with a pod on the leviathan. It can shoot across the map first turn, and is not build for particular up close and personal combat. the dual graviton dread might have a better use for it at any case.

- you need more Gorgons to warrant the Spartan. if the transport costs more than the unit, there's a problem ;)

- You are light on anti infantry options, some Mortar rapiers or perhaps a support squad could remedy that.

You might be confusing the Deredeo with the Leviathan.

Its longest range gun is 24" and the Bombard is 18" :P

I enjoy playing with lists so I looked over yours and tweaked it here and there, filling up your points and buffing up that Gorgon Squad. What do you think?

The only think that really bugs me is that you have this stonking great big Spartan all on its own charging headlong across the board. You could, depending on how much you want out of the Head of the Gorgon Rite do one of two things: Get some Castellax in there as an Elites choice or upgrade those Rhinos on the Tactical Squads to Land Raider Proteus'. That'd generate another scary melee unit or a wall of AV14 respectively.

Yeah j agree about the eggs in basket approach to the Spartan. And I'm aware that sometimes it will fail. But the thought was to Outflank it and the Rhinos and potentially one of the Heavy Tanks like Preds or whatever. Then Pod in the Dreads and just cause Havok in their Mid-Backfield.

But yours is a good list. Would enjoy that too

It's literally your list with the 130pts (and Lascannons) spent mostly on Gorgons and Tactical Squad wargear.

Remember that your Dread will come down first and your Outflanking units from turn 2 onwards. Is there enough on the board to weather the firepower till these units turn up, especially as they need to be exposed to be effective?

The Spartan isn't really on its own; it has a Dreadnought podding in. If you factor in its saves and chances to regain wounds, it has effectively 11 HP. Plop that down in front of Grav first turn.

A vigilator (105pts) scouts your Gorgonators forwards and Ferrus forwards, gives them a Meltabomb and an I5 Power Weapon. A grav gun on the squad gives them a filthy 3 grav Gun precharge shooting attack with Ferrus.

Alternatiely, drop some dudes, and take a DDP for the Temptor and a Dreadclaw to pod in lone Ferrus.

After a couple of hours of driving for work and thinking, I kind of just want to make Ferrus in a Spartan work. Really only because it sounds cool, but also because I literally have the models.

Would Pride of the Legions, taking Gorgons as a troops choice abd maybe double up on the unit work? Drop Orth and his tank and add in another CC character for the other unit. Then dump the rest of the points in Dreads in Pods and Tanks for the backfield. Etc
