Carlson793
Krylon. Only time I've had a problem with it is when I forget to clean the resin beforehand. m_r_parker
Undercoat is always dependant on what colour you're looking to go to. Grey is a safe bet, but for real dark colours I go with a Chaos Black. However, all ForgeWorld is sprayed with Purity Seal first, and I've not had any issues with paint flaking off since. Yeah I always give FW pieces a good soapy scrub then a varnish to seal off any residue release agent and finally grey primer. I had some issues with a Mk. III heavy support squad where the mold release just wouldn't come off and my paint would flake in big chunks, even with primer. So after that I always use purity seal before priming just to be on the safe side and I haven't had any issues since. CplHicks
I've used halford plastic primer before. But like previous have said can't go wrong with the chaos black spray after a soapy wash. Brother Callius
Thanks for your replies so far. To clean the resin you use only soap or chemicals??? You're welcome, for the wash I just use warm (but not scolding) water with dishwashing liquid and a old toothbrush for scrubbing, then I rinse in clean cold water. The video from GW themselves are actually pretty good, so I would give that a looksie if i'ts the first time you're working with FW resin. Dantay VI
Is the Vallejo polyurethane primers, which you spray through an airbrush any good? I just got an airbrush as a gift and have no ideas about what is good or not. I am getting a cleaning kit for it, but wondered if the Vallejo primer would be a good buy. I am also considering getting the spray matte varnish too, would that be good for sealing up FW resin. I have built a few FW things and washed them, but assumed the paint flake/chip was me overhandling them. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318553-primer-for-resin/#findComment-4292766 Share on other sites
