THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Life of the Dead must endure in the Memory of the Living.

Quite recently I found myself gently pulled back into the Dark Millennium by the power of Nostalgia (coupled with the addictive qualities of rolling dice online to produce results from the Chapter Creation Tables); now normally this would not be enough to convince me to brave one of the most illustrious (and presumably-exacting!) centres of scholarship dedicated to the Beloved Astartes with my own humble efforts, but then I came across an allusion to something called 'The Judged' clicked on a Wiki-link and thereby stumbled across one of the most terrible Military Disasters in the History of the Imperium (an incident that made the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava look like the Thin Red Line by comparison).

More to the point is also brought to my attention the most delightful prospect any writer-who-longs-to-be-an-Author can ask for; NAMES, a fine long list of names to stimulate the Imagination without very much in the way of facts to constrain the fancies of whomsoever may care to develop upon those names.

I therefore began rolling on the Chapter Creation Tables immediately ... then I kept rolling some more .... then I rolled again ...

At some point I pulled back a little from the gleeful haze induced by the clatter of tumbling dice (digital) and realised that I had somehow found myself with the basic elements of THIRTY Chapters of Space Marines (amongst others things), the decided that I needed help - so I went looking for the greatest experts in the creation of Astartes to be found on the Internet and was lucky enough to find myself here (not least through the Good Offices of one Aerion the Faithful, that Masterful and Illustrious Illustrator with whom I have the good Fortune to be acquainted - and whom I have reason to believe continues to think fondly of these Forums).

In conclusion, I would like to warn any interested parties that I fully intend to pick your brains (no, not THAT way - this may be WH40K but I'm no Fabius Bile!) for the sake of my interest, edification and in hopes that I will be able to improve my photo-articles on the unfortunate Astartes known as The Judged to the point where they shall prove of interest to the assembled community ... or just amuse you all, at the very least.

So HELLO to all the Community (and remember, you were warned!).

In that case, you'll find the Liber Astartes to be the place you're looking for. I would provide a link but I see that you've already made your way down there. ;)
