Izlude
Just finished the book and curious to see what others have thought of the book. Personally I was never really into the whole Knight Errant stuff although I always found Malcador to be interesting so with this whole BL release of knight errant stuff I did get this hard copy. Just some thoughts/questions I have about the book: 1. Kell: I did read gunsight as well as Nemesis. I am just not sure how he got to where he did and what is up with that weapon? At times I thought he was some type of demonhost or maybe he was just so pissed off being used he was wielding some demon weapon. I found his companion to be more interesting in the book as all alpha legion coverts are interestingly sneaky. 2. I do like the way Garro's doubts was protrayed, at first I was like "pansy...get it together" but he was written well. One of my favorite scenes was the part where he throws his sword during a particular battle...very cool movie-like scene. 3. I like the link with Sigismund in the beginning. I don't think it is much of a spoiler to say he is in the book but a nice link as I think he is a cool character. I love the fact he admits he is not suppose to be there and that daddy Dorn will probably smack his ass again like in the Crimson Fist. 4. Book itself: Definitely nice cover and in typical limited edition prettiness that must sit on my desk. I know people complained about the lack of those bookmarker thing, didn't think it was that big of a deal. Overall I give it a 7/10 (10 being KNF, Betrayer, First heretic for me as the bar). Was expecting some twist in the end but was well written, good transition and smooth. I read via it in one night (usually a mark of a good book if I can read it without saying "when will this end"). I want to get those ebook release with the knight errant stuff but will probably will wait until they compile it as some sort of Knights Errant compilation which they will do. What else did people think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318657-garro-vow-of-faith/ Share on other sites
Prot
I didn't read it yet, but wanted to. The Garro stories have been short, and really expensive so I've avoided them. I do want to get into the Knight Errant stuff though because it 'feels' Grey Knightish which is my thing, but the real draw for me is Malcador. I've wanted to know much more about this guy and I imagine most of what I want to know will be revealed only through ADB's MoM. It's just that he seems like a complex character (on the surface) that I assume most authors are scared of trampling on. I may have to get into this though. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318657-garro-vow-of-faith/#findComment-4288223 Share on other sites
