Firepower
The tanks may look better with a bit of white scripture to decorate those large black areas, and there's a bit of white overspill around the corner panels. Gotta drill them barrels. ;) Nice OSL on the eyes, and the white and red are nice and smooth all across the board :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4291489 Share on other sites
Psykic_scribe
A very nice crusade in progress. For the photos, if you are using MS-Windows then the "Paint" application (select the file and right click to "Open with... ") has a basic feature to crop the image and reduce the picture size (pixel count) - then "save as" a new pic. Broadband speeds are not great in darkest Devon. Marshal Mattias
Nice! It's a bold style and it works. I really like your Champion pose, it's a neat kitbash. I'll look forward to seeing your vanguard if you're bringing the same style ;) Welcome to the Eternal Crusade, brother! Jacques Corbin
Already have Vanguards? Then get a unit of Sternguard, and some Land Speeders. With a Marshall, you have a Shadow Force formation. It's practically a Marshall's household. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4291658 Share on other sites
Ciler
Amazing job. I wouldn't mind copying the pose for your champion, would you care to describe the bits used ? This is from what I could see... Vanguard Legs, Templar Torso, Vanguard Sword Arm, Vanguard Shoulder Guard, Tactical Other Arm with Templar Lamp and Templar Shoulder Guard, Templar Heraldry Shield, Templar Helmet, Templar Backpack, And Tactical ornament on the top of the back pack... The cape is greenstuff... I need a life... :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4291744 Share on other sites
Zotek
Resized all images in sympathy with slow internet users everywhere Amazing job. I wouldn't mind copying the pose for your champion, would you care to describe the bits used ? Roujakis nailed everything i think. Ive been working on him on and off with several iterations for 2 years so i barely remember it myself:P took my time and put in pieces as i got more kits The tanks may look better with a bit of white scripture to decorate those large black areas, and there's a bit of white overspill around the corner panels. Gotta drill them barrels. Nice OSL on the eyes, and the white and red are nice and smooth all across the board I thought about scripture on the tank, but on the other hand i like a clean look. also im terrible at writing on minis. maybe some scraped off paint? When i get my hands on something to drill with sure Pretty sure the white paint was thinned with my tears as i put on layer after layer after layer priming grey helps tho Nice! It's a bold style and it works. I really like your Champion pose, it's a neat kitbash. I'll look forward to seeing your vanguard if you're bringing the same style Welcome to the Eternal Crusade, brother! Vanguards will deffo have effort put into them, i love the idea of elite melees. Probably cloaks on all of them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4292084 Share on other sites
Brother Captain Ed
I thought about scripture on the tank, but on the other hand i like a clean look. also im terrible at writing on minis. maybe some scraped off paint? The great thing about the scale is that you don't have to actually write anything. From our vantage, legible script is actually sign-sized. So "regular" sized text and inscriptions just need to make the eye think that there is writing there. A block of squiggles and marks arranged in a fashion that suggests text will do the trick. I believe Mattias makes use of this technique extensively in his crusade. (Apologies if I have that confused.) Firepower
I suggest morse code. .. _.. _.__.. In white paint, that looks like little bits of script. Add in an upward or downward swoop now and then to make it interesting. ..i..j_ _.i.. __i_ Quick and easy. The hard part is keeping everything parallel. Don't want cockeyed script on those tanks, after all :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4292170 Share on other sites
Zotek
http://i.imgur.com/0MFMZ53.jpg So the first termie of Magdalene squad is pretty much done. I think that helmet is the most annoying thing ive had to paint so far, painting white can suck it. Now i understand why i see so many BT termies with either black helmets or unhelmeted^^ This is also the new base i came up with, i think a snow base would be awesome but this way i can rebase my whole army pretty easily and i have everything i need on hand. The brighter base is the important thing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318776-my-zealots/#findComment-4297764 Share on other sites
