++ March of the Legions: IX Legion ++

Brother Castillo, call sign "Iron Angel" believed in warfare with blade and flame. Armed with a hand flamer and chainsword he brings a level of ferocity that would make a World Eater shiver. Behind all the finery of his armor is a resolute soul with a focus that is uncharacteriistic of his fighting style. His armor is ornate and stylized by the chapters artificers. He bears the mark of a veteran but maintains a MK. III breacher helmet for protection and as a backup weapon. A notable feature of his armor is the amethyst pauldrons adopted after serving with the Emperors Children. His service was distinguished but cut short after an "incident" with a group of Fulgrim's legion. After an honor duel, words were exchanged and Castillo showed the III how a real angel fights. Rumor around the IX is that the skulls attached to his backup are those of III legion bretheren that words and blows were exchanged with. Castillo unfortunately refuses to remark upon this.

Finished! Took four attempts to get the armour done, although I'm still unhappy with it. It kept coming out either too dark or too orange. I'm afraid the pictures really show up how rough he is, but at least I can call him done. I am quite pleased with the right shoulder and my attempt at adding a power weapon effect to the sword shows up better on camera than in natural light. Hopefully practise will make perfect.

Brother Eliphas Rafael served as the champion of the 43rd chapter of the Blood Angels. A distinguished and skilled swordsman, he was honoured to wield the paragon blade known as the Angel's Tears. It was widely believed that he would soon join the Sanguinary Guard.

Prior to the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, Brother Rafael's 43rd chapter was deployed en masse to pacify the Damatieri system. Throughout this bloody compliance, he fought with distinction in the spear tip of nearly 200 orbital assaults.

Brother Eliphas Rafael died on Signus Prime, ripped asunder by the bloodthirster Ka'Bandha after giving in to the Black Rage in a single moment of weakness.

Having had some time to think about it, I probably will do another month for the II slot for people to have one last shot at it. I might start working on a few things here and there that I didn't get to myself.

Ahhhh man.... I can't believe I've only just found these.... damn hobby break!!! Is there anywhere the previous 9 marches are archived so I can have a look through without trawling the forum. I tried search but only this one came up. Also which legions are left to go?? This is a fantastic idea, everyone has a slightly different take which really helps to breathe fresh perspective and ideas into each of the legions

Haha! Flattery strikes again!

Had less time than expected this last week, so the base was a rushjob. And had to skip on some stuff I wanted to change.

No fluff though :<

Dang... That golden helmet. You boys be all bling blang in the Baal district.

Here's my entry for the IX legion.

Apothecary Eremiel seen here in his preferred style of combat, preferring chain sword and his narthecium to cut and hack away at this enemies.

Was part of a joint expedition fleet consisting of elements for the VI, XVIII and IX legions to cleanse a newly discovered system of an Ork horde. His squad would often find themselves fighting besides elements of the VI. He would later be gifted a new chain sword from the VI legion after losing his while defending one of their squads from being overrun.

Ultimately Emeriel and his squad were lost while clearing out the last Orks from a major city. Their bodies had been brutalized and had strange wounds and marks. With no clear indication of what had done the damage, it was eventually decided that it must have been from some unknown Ork weapon.
