Hey guys!

I am really close to having a fully painted 2000 point Ultramarines force that can be expanded to 2500 points at a push.

I ordered two kits a week or so ago, and they have arrived. I've decided to do one of these hobby threads as they are encouraging and really help with motivations!

So, here's the two kits:

I've not done any significant building or painting since before Christmas, so I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in!

An hour later and all I have are some soggy bits of Resin. God, sometimes I forget how time consuming Forgeworld can be.

It's daunting at times, even for someone experienced with this kind of modelling. I've put many kits together in the past, and each one has presented a few problems. I've already spotted that the Sicaran has a few Warped bits that will need to be heat fixed once everything has dried.

In the meantime I've started assembling the Deredeo. I'll be painting my models to have a clean look, somewhat different from most of the Battle-scarred and charred style Heresy armies. The Ultramarines shall know no mud!

Oh... and here's one Sicaran I did Earlier:

Thanks for looking guys. I'll be updating this, hopefully with some regularity although I am incredibly lazy at times!

Once my army is completed I'll be looking to game with it as often as possible!

PS: Can't wait for the leaks from the HH Weekender tomorrow biggrin.png

Guys, I have an update.

I've started work on my Deredeo, and I'v been painting up the main body and legs.

I'm sort of happy with it, let me know what you think...

I'll be looking to have the full model completed by Tuesday, so look forward to the updates then.

I'll also post pics of my basic infantry :-)

Will you do decals for him? He needs a little something Ultramarinish to pop. Those white symboles really break the blue well when properly applied.

I really don't like transfers that much, although all my infantry have them. I can never get them to stay on... my application technique must be all wrong?

I've actually got some Ultra resin logos and bling I'll be putting over the Ailos missiles, but if it looks too plain when it's done I'll apply a few.

Put a gloss coat down and let it dry where you want the transfer to go. Put the transfer down, using something like Micro-Set to help it adhere, and then put another gloss coat on top of it. This will make the transfer film all but disappear, as well as protect it.

You could also do a stylised U using a stencil across the chest.

Thanks, I'll look into doing that.

Makes me want to go back and add transfers to all my other vehicles too.

Once you get the hang of the proper way of doing it, it's no trouble at all. thumbsup.gif
