War Angel
I want to make a street for my imperial knights base. Any tips or help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318998-how-can-i-make-asphalt-from-green-stuff/ Share on other sites
Jarl of Wulfen
You might be better off using the astrogranite texture paint with a heavy null oil wash Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318998-how-can-i-make-asphalt-from-green-stuff/#findComment-4300214 Share on other sites
battle captain corpus
There are quite a few YouTube vids to browse through. Personally I would try: - quite thick layer of green stuff smoothed flat while wet - roll a small pebble or stone over surface with gentle pressure to create a textured base layer - using a wet hobby knife score lines to resemble brick work or cobbles - leave to dry for at least 5 hours - using PVA glue add small areas of sand to represent rubble etc. Just my 2 cents. SW1
I'd not bother with the gs unless there's holes to fill in. Get a smoothing surface and then apply fine sand to the base with PVA. Seal with a watered down PVA. Leave to dry a few days. And then hit with a black and then a very very light drybrush with a dark/medium grey. Bung
Simplest Method of all would be to use some fine sanding paper. Just cut it like you need it and glue it on the base. old git
Agreed on the above. A medium to fine grain wet and dry glass paper would be much easier. Retributis
For my bases I use Agrellan earth re-primed to black, then dry-brushed with varying greys and washed heavily with Nuln Oil. Brother Pheidias
For raised asphalt, cork is also an option. Bonus points for being able to dig holes into it that realistically resemble potholes/craters from lower calibre weaponry.
