GW Video: Painting Wulfen

That's a good video. They seem to be quite large miniatures, which is awesome.

Yeah and that kind of makes me think I'll have to scrap my conversion idea to get 10 wulfen from one box. Will have to wait until this weekend once I have the sprues in hand.

Pictures of the sprues are on GWs website.

Think you get one torso and two legs for every Wulfen.

You could use regular marine torsos with a bit of work?

oh I'm not saying it wouldn't work I just don't know how goofy it's going to look
Cool vid, but I have no desire to paint my Wulfen up in SW baby bluish. I want them to stand out as much in their armor as they do in physical appearance from their brethren. To me it doesn't matter I'd the are brothers by blood, they will never be what they once were prior to their transformation in the eyes of the SW. In fact they will always be viewed of what fate lies in the future.

Interesting video to see the model as a whole.

I desperately hope that the arms fit Terminator torsos, so I could maaaaybe make a unit of Terminator-Wulfen with Shield and Hammer - that way I could use them as Termis or as Wulfen with Shield&Hammer

I'm going to guess they'll need some cutting. they're designed to be inserted into tank top-thingy, which round inwards where the arm is. not glued flat.

Your models will end up looking like the guy at the gym that never does leg day if you use regular Marine legs.

I don't plan on regular marine legs unless I cut and elongate them. I'm working on some ideas but nothing will be concrete until I have the sprues in hand and know how they all fit together.

Simple conversion for most people who don't like these guys legs, cut the legs off at the knee then put a terminator leg on. I think they might be close enough size wise to not look funny

i think i'm going to go off the wall on my solution: I'm simply going to sculpt the wulfen a heel, above there "paw" is.

the paw serves just fine as the ball of the foot and humans naturally run on top of them when barefoot anyways.

That might make them have feet of Sideshow Bob proportions. Terminator legs were going to be my first choice as we see that done with those that like to truescale Marines. However as I have seen them more with the release of so many pics and the knowledge that the worse one can have his legs swapped out, I can live with the lupine legs.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of cutting up my chaos terminators legs for this project and sculpting over them. My sculpting skills aren't up to snuff but I think this will be amazing practice for that.

My first instinct was to get a mixture of running assault and running Zerker legs to swap out but then realized the size difference would be too much.

Too small and that makes me sad because I have 16 sets of berserker legs begging to be used.

Granted if you want to go a themed 13th Co now that we have Wulfen, you got legs to mix and match for Grey Slayers and Storm Claws.

That's what I'm using my b@c marines for, not as the "we stole some chaos guys armor" but as a "we are kinda old" type thing.
