I have a relic and regular Contemptor dread but am at a loss for what color scheme to do them in. Someone suggested bone for the relic and green for the normal. Does that sound about right? They are 10,000 years old whether they have extra bling on them or not and will be Venerable in relation to other Dreads. Whilst they 'could' be just another Dread kept in the Arsenal to be deployed with Battle Companies, I would say that it is more likely they are kept for special occasions.
