khorneguy
I'm normally a complete hobby buttterfly, dashing between various projects and never quite getting any of them done. I was hoping to change that this year and just focus on my Thousand Sons, but then the Horus Heresy Weekender came along and competely dashed those plans. Seeing the wealth of new rules and army lists coming out for all legions has inspired me to return to and update my previous Sons of Horus army, then throw in some Shattered Legions and Army of Dark Compliance goodness in there too. So I've decided to abandon my previous Thousand Sons log and make a more all-encompassing log to cover all my heresy projects. Drawn from across the legions and Imperial Army, the only unifying themes will be the fact that they're all going to be traitors and all the background is going to be set within the Draconii sub-sector, the little corner of the galaxy which me and my regular gaming friends have carved out for ourselves over the years. To begin with I've decided to return to where it all began for me: http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq107/khorneguy/IMG_3569.jpg Preator-Commander Markus Morkaddon, commander of the 15th Company Sons of Horus. He's been the leader of my Sons Horus army for nearly 4 years now, beinf the first 30k model I completed after Book 1 came out. I was quite proud of him at the time, but my painting and modelling skills have improved drastically since I finished him, so I felt it was time to give him a spruce up. Here's how he used to look: http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq107/khorneguy/new.jpg The new model will have an axe and topknot, making him feel much more Cthonian, as well as representing how it's now been a few years since Istvann and he's now treading a much darker and more brutal path I'm toying with the idea of using the newly-released rules for Tybalt Marr to represent him, as they seem to match the background I've written for him, but i'm not sure yet. I think I'll focus on getting him finished first, then I'll decide. I'll post more soon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319165-for-the-warmaster-assorted-traitors-and-scum/ Share on other sites
Hesh Kadesh
Incredible green. Please use a Chain Axe like the Excoriator Axe head. Brutal as heck. khorneguy
I've been so busy for the last few months, I've hardly had a chance to do any modelling or painting. Things have quietened down now though, so it's time to return to this log.My Sons of Horus have been put on the backburner for now, mostly due to having finally discovered a recipe I like for the red armour of my Thousand Sons. The fact that the HE bits I use for the helmet crests are now out of production has also spurred me to get a move on with the army before the finite reserves of the crest left in the world become impossible to source.Anyway, here's what I've gotten done so far:http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq107/khorneguy/Thousand%20Sons.jpgStill a long way to go on them, but I'm really liking how they're turning out so far. This si going to end up being a 15 man Tactical Squad with attached Apothecary. After that I'll be working on some Breacher, Terminators and a trio of Contemptors. Plenty to keep me going! What do you think so far?Edit: I've now started a seperate log for my Thousand Sons. In theory it should keep me more focused on them and leave this one for my various other heresy forces, which I'll be working on in a more piecemeal fashion. khorneguy
I'd completely forgotten I made this thread. I've been so busy at work, I haven't really had time to work on anything anyway. Now I've got the time to return to my Sons of Horus and various other Traitor projects, I figure it's time to kick some life back into this log.I'll start with my Lodge Master/ Chaplain/ Lupercii Chieftan, Aryk Varradon: Still a lot to do on him. That's mostly details and working on the base though, so what you see here should give you a good impression of what the finished model will be like. He's a little more Chaos-y than a lot of Heresy models you see, but my force is set post-Molech so a little more gribbly chaos stuff seemed appropriate. He should be leading a big squad of Reavers when I get round to redoing them. I have about 1500 points sitting in the stripping tub atm and another 2000 being reworked/rebased, so I've got plenty to keep me busy! The other main thing I've been working on is the start of my Traitor White Scars: The main thing left to do here is cleaning up the white and appliying decals and freehand. These guys are meant to represent a group of those White Scars who fled from the Khan's wrath at Prospero, having worked their way to Horus' side and pledged their support. I'm really looking forward to having fun exploring these guys, especially as you really don't hear much about them after the end of the Scars novel. My general plan with them is to emphasise their tribal mindset and savagery coming to the fore as Chaos worms its way into them. It also gives me a good way to field one of my favourite legions without all that loyalist 'For the Emperor!' nonsense :PWhat do you think so far? I'll post more soon.ps: let me know how the picture sizes turned out. My laptop does funny things to photos sometimes when I'm using my phone to post to forums.
