Brother Clavero
When mixing GW paint, what do you use to take the paint out of the pot(s) that are to be mixed? I have tried using everything from pieces of sprue to dip out the paint to a small spoon shaped end of a sculpting tool. Does anyone know of a better way to do this? Bryan Blaire
I usually put a few ml of flow improver into the pot, wrap it in a paper towel, and shake it up pretty good. You can then get this out with a disposable pipette (can order these easily, for example) if you are trying to get a specific amount to mix with, or you can simply pour the bottle into another, larger, mixing pot if you need the entire amount. I've found this usually allows you to get almost all of the paint out. Lucio
I personally use cocktail sticks, they're cheap and also double as handy stiring rods. Ovidius Incertus
Ditto Lucio. I use toothpicks to dip and to mix. It is a time consuming affair, though. You could always transfer your favorite GW paints to dropper bottles. (Says the guy who has a whole bag of empty dropper bottles but has never put them to use for the very purpose he bought them for....) Brother-Chaplain Kage
My brush. Are you just talking about mixing colors on a palette or large amounts in bottles or something? Bryan Blaire
Guess I assumed whole bottles or more significant portions thereof. Otherwise I just use a brush to get paint out. Put your GW paints into dropper bottles like the one of Vallejo and other paint brands use. Best way to get your paint to your palette or mixing them. Obeliske
I use toothpicks. The end of my brush I'm going to give a go though sounds like I'd get more and it would still be fairly measured. If you need an exact amount I've used pipettes and been very happy with the result. Brother Clavero
Thanks for all the great replies! I like the idea of transferring them to squeeze bottles!
