Macragge Blue spray problems

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I've just gotten around to spraying my ultramarines after having them primed black for a few days. I decided to go the easy route and spray them with the macragge blue spray.

As usual before I use a spray can, I let it warm up in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes before shaking and using it. All was well to begin with, I blasted through a dreadnought, 5 terminators and a tactical squad. I then started the second tactical squad, and 2 marines in the spray went really weird. The only way I can describe it that the minis look like they have had a blue wash applied over the black primer when I spray them, it looks really watered down and isn't providing very good coverage.

Has this happened to anybody before and what does it mean? I don't think the can is empty as it still has quite a lot of weight to it, and I have only sprayed the models above with it and surely they cant take up a whole can themselves?

Yes, well, it's just a guess from my end... Maybe you want to leave it for a while in room temperature and give it another go? Sometimes the propellant is re-invigorated for a few more shots.

Having said that, if you only sprayed a Dread, a Termie squad and a Tactical squad, it does seem very little for the spray to have run out... confused.gif

I went ahead and ordered a second can as I will be needing one for future use anyway, but I shall give the first can another whirl later on with some old bits of sprue.

I appreciate the replies and I will let you know how it goes!

I have had this problem on very rare occasions and try as I might, I cannot get the primer can to work again. This includes swapping out the spray nozzle, cleaning out the nozzle with a safety pin and other attempts to save the primer. My gut feeling is that something somehow gets clogged in the tubing within the can.

Good luck!
