bozo69pd
Hey guys question for anyone who may have tried this. I have about 200 cultists that I'm going to simple green strip and paint red for counts as blood letters in an apocalypse game next week. I'm just going to use khorne red spray and maybe throw on some crimson wash. I bet this is going to use alot of cans of paint and... I'm tempted to try spraying the khorne red on without a primer, but I have heard it flakes off? Anyone know for sure? The Acid Dog
How old is the Khorne Red? From what I've heard, the older colored spray cans were meant to be used over primer, but the new mixes are primers in and of themselves. I use the new Zandri Dust spray on my IG tanks, and I've knocked out 10 of them without any issues. Well, there was one issue, but I was spraying in sub-zero temps and I stayed outside just a little too long, so that's on me. bozo69pd
I would buy the cans this week. Good to know because I have noticed it sometimes feels the past few months a spray primer into a spray basecoat feels heavy and like it clogged some detail (and thats with just a few puffs) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319544-question-on-spraying-without-a-primer/#findComment-4314173 Share on other sites
NovemberIX
Why not try using a red primer? Duplicolor makes a red sandable that looks pretty good, covers well and without going on too thick. Lucio
Personally, I'd always prime the models first, because the GW colour sprays pick up a chunk of their colour from the black or white layer underneath and tend to adhere too thickly to bare plastic.
