New IP on TW Mount Conversion (With IP Legs)

I posted this elsewhere on the forums but felt that a seperate thread might benefit some people who don't follow the What are you working on thread. There has been a lot of talk about the new model and how some people were wanting to try and mount this bad boy on a wolf. I just wanted to share how I had done it with relative ease.

I started by mounting the legs and the body onto the saddle first. The right knee is a seperate piece so having the body on the wolf makes finding the angle of the knee much easier.

You can see a little bit of a gap at the back of the knee joint, this could very easily be filled in with green stuff with very little effort. I plan on painting that area black anyways so I'm going the lazy route and leaving it as is. It was really easy to find this fit, it's just a small twist off from where the piece would normally sit so I had no trouble gluing it.

The rest is just managing to get everything to twist into the right spots and for glue to dry completely. Some of the wires need to be bent in order to connect to the back pack. I just heated a piece of metal, pressed it to the back of the wire/plastic and it allowed me to bend them fairly easy. I've heard some people use steam to bend but again, I'm inpatient and this allows me to apply direct heat to where I want the bend. You lose some detail but again, apply it to the back of the wire where no one will see.

All in all, I think it looks pretty damn good for how easy it was. Just be patient with the glue. Nothing is going to sit 100% and in some of these shots you can see the wires are slightly off because I'm waiting for certain things to dry before I bend them to the final resting place. Hope this helps some people!

This is what I was hoping was possible when I saw this new model.

It was surprisingly easy, just wait for the glue to dry before trying to put on the next piece. I can't stress that enough....

Easy and kept all the original parts of the IP is what I am really liking.  I like to pin a lot of my stuff, so I think that will help with the conversion on this model when gluing.

It was mostly the damn wires and cords, just making sure they all connected and stayed connected as you continue to work on the model. They're so small too, I was afraid to try and pin them so slow and steady gluing/bending was my method.

Did you use Plastic cement for those little bits?? If not, you should give it a go, it works really well for holding small pieces together.

Just be mindful of the fumes!!

End of Line

Yes I did and that was why you really have to wait for it to dry. You've got wires on both sides of the model so you can get the left side aligned, wait 5 minutes before fiddling with the right, and between the bending and fat fingers the left side keeps getting off center again. It's just a back and fourth dance.

Fyth, have you glued the IP to the TW yet?? If not, can we see the IP alone for better detail as to where you cut the legs to re-position them?? Or is it an obvious cut (I have yet to pick up the model, they sold out at my LGS)??

Thank you

Yust, your version looks great!! Nice work
