veterannoob
Gav's site is the best and well organized with a reading order. And if go post-Heresy Gav has several DA books. In yesterday's interview we talked about Angels of Death, Lords of Caliban, The Legacy of Caliban trilogy and I believe there are two space marine battles books, Kalldious? I don't have this site in front of me. http://gavthorpe.co.uk/books/ Has reading order link at the top. Space Truckin
Previous posts here are spot on. Black Library also has a diagram to help navigate DA story arcs during the Horus Heresy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319656-dark-angels-books/#findComment-4317160 Share on other sites

Rob P
If you are going to read 40k then the point you are at is the perfect place to get the maximum impact out of Angels of Darkness. DarkChaplain
Honestly, there is no getting around Angels of Darkness. Dark Angels tend to link back to Horus Heresy times in 40k, via the Fallen. The Legacy of Caliban trilogy and its short stories (available via Lords of Caliban I believe) for example hooks into multiple plotlines from the Horus Heresy series. That's simply the nature of having characters sucked into the warp and spat out 10k years later. My suggested reading order: Descent of Angels Angels of Darkness Call of the Lion (Tales of Heresy) Fallen Angels Savage Weapons (Age of Darkness) The Lion (The Primarchs) Prince of Crows (Shadows of Treachery) Guardian of Order (Legacies of Betrayal) By the Lion's Command (War Without End) Grey Angel Master of the First The Unremembered Empire (Herald of Sanguinius) Deathfire (Wolf King) The Dark Between the Stars (Pharos) and the upcoming Angels of Caliban. I'd hold off on the Legacy of Caliban til after seeing what's in AoC, seeing that certain plotlines from AoC cannot happen without something else happening in future HH books. The Purging of Kadillus can be read before the trilogy, but after Angels of Caliban. It is a bridge, an inofficial part in the series that illustrates the conflict on Piscina, where both Angels of Darkness are set (before and after Kadillus) and Legacy of Caliban ends up for a while. Rob P
Yeah, like Dark Chaplain says Angels of Darkness should be read early. I didn't make the point clear in my original post but it has more impact if read before the post Fallen Angels short story/novellas in 30k setting.
