awilden
Hey all, I was posting this to see what anyone who's bought the GW Manufactorum building/scenery kit before thinks about it, and how far the box contents would be able to be stretched (as in say buying 1 kit and making 2 medium buildings/walls, or buying 2 kits and making 1 big, and 2 small wall sections), I was thinking about getting 2 kits after seeing how modular it was, and thought maybe even with a few walls/floors off of ebay, 2 kits could effectively make 3 or 4 pieces of scenery for my board, rather than buying up essentially a kit per building/wall/obstacle needed. Basically what has anyone managed to make out of the kit, and were you happy with it, and how much you managed to make out if it and if it worked out to be fairly cost effective (and nice looking, i guess i could go ordinary ww2 building model kits and cut them up and make some damage and whatnot, but the 40k aesthetic really appeals, and the GW kits do look sweet). Halandaar
Obviously it depends on the size of the scenery you want to build, but you could comfortably get 2 smaller buildings out of one kit (amazing quality suggestion attached) or as you suggest, go for 2 kits and build 3-4 buildings. http://i1359.photobucket.com/albums/q797/halandaar/Warhammer/Forum%20Images/99120199009_ManufactorumNEW01_zpszttwhl96.jpg All the 40k scenery kits interact really well together and I've personally mixed components from several of them to create massive buildings (no pictures of those though I'm afraid as they're no longer in my possession) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319792-gw-manufactorum-kit/#findComment-4322040 Share on other sites
awilden
Awesome :-) they do look really nice, the way the kit looked with it being so modular immediately made me think to try get either a smaller (in levels) building, or a tall wall section or a smaller 2 level building, the picture looks pretty much like i had imagined. Grand Master Laertes
Here is an example of a massive building (still veeeeery WIP): Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319792-gw-manufactorum-kit/#findComment-4322162 Share on other sites
SW1
Currently painting a few bits up made from several kits. The number of buildings you can make depends on how high you want to go and how intact the building need to be. Build a load many years ago and wish I'd now used plasticard to bulk out the kits a bit. Lol ... You live and learn.
