CaptainStabby
It's been forever since I've been able to play. I kidnapped a friend and dragged him onto the Heresy Train with me. We're waiting on a resin drop so figured we would proxy some stuff and have a go of some ZM goodness. Ended up as Fists vs Wolves, and came down to literally the last roll of the game. Ended up going 7 turns and while he didn't smash any of the Augur Arrays(wrecking mission), he tabled me on that last roll. My Moritat stood tall and pretty much killed all the things until at the end he got pulped by a thunder hammer, well... several thunder hammers really. We probably made ton of mistakes relearning the rules, super stoked to keep rolling, no brakes etc. Using the Space Hulk tiles was probably less than ideal for ZM, but it got the job done. Takeaways Not super impressed with the Destroyers in the close confines, though I did forget to use the phosphex bombs because I am derp. Doing it again I'd probably drop them for a Contemptor or some combination ot Tacticals/Rapiers. Fists squads put out a LOT of bolter shots, my Terminators kinda got chewed up. Apothecaries are good. I need to remember to run them. The Catastrophic Damage table is hilariously fun. Good times, will murder YellowMarines again. Rawr. CaptainStabby
Yeah, I ran my 1k list with the "come at me bro" Moritat. He nearly won the game single handedly, once I killed his Centurion, everyone else seemed to fail to hit and my opponents termies just couldn't hit, which would have insta death pulped the Moritat with their thunder hammers, conversely the 2nd of his Apothecaries was equally as gifted with the rolls, he survived a absolute deluge of hits between armor and feel no pain. It was good fun, we learned alot about re purposing the SH tiles for next time, there were some things we didn't consider when setting up the play area. I don't think it would have changed the outcome, but it definitely made it so we only used about 2/3 of the area we had. It's been a looong time since either of us has got to play, so as I said I'm sure we screwed things up all over the place, but it was good fun. I feel like I need to paint my 30k Wolves now as opposed to the other army that is currently the pipeline... stupid distractions. Got a few pics, but they just look like a SH board with a bunch of upainted minis, so, nothing super special. Dantay VI
Yes, paint the WOlves, we could always do with more Fenryka here in 30K. There are not too many of us about :) Or paint both, switch between them to save on painting burnout.
