Requiemnex
Hello fellow sisters players. I am a returning SOB player. I do not currently have the current warhammer rulebook or the most recent sisters codex. A friend of mine was talking about taking "formations" in his space marine book and I was wondering if this is a thing for sisters at all? I was also wondering where I should start back into the hobby with sisters. I have 3 painted rhino and 3 painted exorcists from when I was going team cheese mode back in the day, lots of competive events and what not. I am looking more to get back into the hobby as a beer and pretzels sorta deal. Casual for funzies play. Any recommendations? *Furyou Miko
Infantry. You want more infantry. Dominion squads are our best unit at the moment. And the most recent codex, of course. It's the ebook-only one from the black library website. Sadly, the Sisters do not yet have any Formations, as we haven't had a seventh edition codex update yet (to whit, it's only Necrons, Tau, Space Marines, Orks and I think Eldar who have). Naminé
Well, technically we have apocalypse formations, but none for regular 40k. Model wise you'll want regular bolter sisters, flamers and heavy flamers, and meltaguns. Sister Superiors to flavour and Priests are highly recommended. From there it depends what you find fun :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319938-returning-player/#findComment-4324670 Share on other sites
Requiemnex
Are Melta squads still worth while or should i be mixing weapons heavy/special?I am trying to put something together with some fluff with Cypher included in the army.Sort of in with the wind and out just as fast. GogglesDown
H. flamer/flamer and Melta/Melta squads are still the way to go. Some like the versatility of H. flamer/Melta squads. grendal1989
Infantry will go a long way since we have so few different types of models. I'm a proponent of Immolators, though you may have to make them out of Razorbacks now with some sisters bits from the Exorcist kit (or generic fleur-de-lys). Also, I feel that you don't really get the full effect of Dominions unless they are mechanized, but YMMV. GogglesDown
For Immolators, FW also has some sisters tank upgrades and twin linked heavy weapons for Rhinos. I would buy a whirlwind and sisterfy it. Build it out so it could be a Rhino, Immolator, or exercist using the FW parts I mentioned and maybe pick up a dozer blade as well. Warsmith Aznable
My current list is built on this idea: BSS in Rhinos usually with at least one squad of Retributors anchoring my backfield, a squad or two of Seraphim with Celestine dropping into the enemies rear, with Dominions in Immolators Outflanking into the middle of the board. I usually run this as MSU, and if the points go up high then I duplicate units or add allies like my Imperial Knight (whose job is to run straight up the middle and see what happens.) Another trick that I've got some mileage out of recently is a Flesh Tearers formation. You take the HQ and the Troops at minimal investment, then take advantage of their Fast Attack drop pods to send your Dominions at exactly the right target for their weapons. I've personally backed away from this (and allies in general) but it does work and can be a nasty thing to do to someone who isn't expecting a boatload of meltaguns turn 1. Aqui
I've recently decided on a Legion of the Damned squad to add to my existing Sisters. I'm using Sisters models (painted to look ghostly rather than the usual bones and flames), so I can't take Marine centric weapons (Missile Launcher, Grav for example). I can't say on their effectiveness, as I've never used LotD, but I'm looking forward to it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319938-returning-player/#findComment-4326380 Share on other sites
