Reopening this debate in a small way. How long do we want the Full Chaos stage to last from the beginning of the Blood Crusade to Madrigal and Terra? It currently stands at 9.9 years, which is another third longer than the entire Heresy and puts the Insurrection at 28 years.

I suggest we shave it down to 7 (still keeping to the 25 years total, I believe in FTTP with regard to the old poll). I reckon it'd just lend a bit more momentum to the grand finale.

Side question: how long a Scouring do we want?

I'm surprised that's all you mentioned, Blunt. To everyone else, Blunt actually brought up a really interesting idea that 30k Warp travel is not inherently as time-consuming or as dangerous as 40k for a variety of factors. I think there's real value to his theory and am considering cutting down galactic travel times.

While this will definitely reduce the overall length of the Insurrection, this only affects travel time. So, no chance of cutting the Insurrection length in half, but how much of an advantage does 30k travel have over 30k? 10%? 20? 25? 30% would be the maximum bonus I would assign. And this would affect all sides in the war, not just the Traitors.

The inherent trouble with the Warp is that it can't be quantified, but we can establish some sensible parameters.

From canon, we have the BA resolving to leave Ultramar in '11/12 and being at Terra for the Siege in '13. Now that seems too short to me - I'd make the Lions' equivalent journey longer - but I believe the canon travel times are worth thinking about.

But I'd also hesitate to give anything like equal footing to the Loyalists and Insurrectionists.

Fair 'nuff.

I'm now wondering if Sanguinius' easy passage was the product of "this should be entertaining" on the part of the Gods. Which, if we play it with Hec to any degree, allows for a dark reflection of the "Thor loves this boat!" scene in Vikings...

I believe that this will be covered in Ruinstorm. Somehow I believe that the Lion will make use of Tuchulcha in order to redeem himself or something like that.

Or Sangi + RG force him to use it to reach Terra but only the BA fleet can make it through before it breaks down.
