New Forgeworld Bundurus - Legion Support forces for £125

Recommended Posts

I couldn't see this anywhere, seemingly people only saw the book in their email?

We now have a slew of shiny new bundles which are all basically along the format of:

Legion Dreadnought (actual Legion one)

1x Legion Terminator Unique

1x Legion Power Armour Unique (or similar)

Going from the Salamander one, you save £11 on the bunduru, based on:

£48 Firedrakes

£35 Pyros

£34 Contemptor

£19 'Temptor smasher and rootin' tootin' shootin' stick

Total: £136

Bunduru: £125

Savings: £11 .

Current bundurus of Decent-itude

Sons of Horus Bunduru

Twin-Kheres Contemptor of Meta

5 Justaerin

5 Reavers

Verdict: All 3 units are sexy and useful

Death Guard Bunduru

Twin-Kheres Contemptor of Meta

5 Grave Wardens

5 Destroyers

Verdict: Now good, due to recent book 6 buffs to Wardens and Destroyers work well for DG

Current Bundurus of Meh-ish-itude

Salamanders Bunduru

Melta-Claw Contemptor of Fluffy

5 Firedrakes

5 Pyroclasts

Verdict: Good for the Legion, but Pyros are a bit meh

Mechanicum Taghmata Bunduru

Thanatar-Calix

10 Adsecularis with laslocks

3 Thallax

Verdict: Let down by the choice of the Calix automata over regular Thanatar.

World Eaters Bunduru

5 Red Butchers

5 Rampagers

Dual-chainfist Contemptor of Common Sense

Verdict: Let down by Rampagers, but they're good for kitbashing as officers etc. Brought up again by awesome Butchers and Contemptor loadout of Common Sense

Word Bearers Bunduru

5 Gal Vorbak

5 Ashen Circle

Twin-Kheres Contemptor of Meta

Verdict: Let down by Ashen Circle, do people actually use them?

Current Bundurus of Bad-itude

Iron Hands Bunduru

5 Gorgons

5 Tacticals

Stock Contemptor of Wut

Verdict: Stock temptor & tacticals?  Not Immortals? Not sure why you'd go for this

Emperor's Children Bunduru

5 Phoenix Terminators

5 Palatine Blades

Beamer/Bolter Contemptor of Bafflement

Verdict: The dreadnought loadout is baffling, buy the two infantry units separate surely?

Solar Auxilia Bunduru

3 Charontie Ogryns

10 Veletarii

1 Multi-laser Rapier of Extreme Contribution

Verdict: Hilariously pointless, especially the *single* rapier.

Overall some of the bundles are decent enough starts to the core of an army, though only if you're going to buy anyway. You can now save a tenner, with that saving actually being vaguely worth it for a few of the bundurus.

I'd rate the ones worth getting as the start of a new legion as:

SoH, DG, Salamder (Pyros are still good) or World Eaters.

Not bad on the WB side depending on what else you have/run already. Probably not enough to push me at a bundle though as I have enough Contemptors.

Nobody had enough contemptors! biggrin.png. I look at these bundles as almost FW's "start collecting" type of bundle. I just wish ultramarines had their special units made so we could have out own bundle.

Bunduru? Is that supposed to be 'Bundle'?

Its Jap-English / interweb speak.

I thought I'd ask to make sure. I'm not really down with the kids, anymore. :P

It's from South Park; it's the the way the president of Sony speaks :P

I'm having trouble resisting the temptation of making a White Scars joke.

I am genuinely interested in the world eater one for basically exactly the reasons in the rundown I will be very possibly ordering one as soon as funds free up... in the mean time I'll content myself turning reavers into world eaters
