Ishagu
Millicant brought up an interesting point. Book VI introduces the new entry of the Quad Support Battery that can be upgraded with various ammo types, such as shatter shells, phosprex shells and so on. Technically, this is a new entry and it doesn't specify that it overrides or removes the regular Rapier battery that can be upgraded to a Quad Mortar that comes with shatter shells already. So what's the deal? As it stands, unless I plan on using some of the more exotic ammo types there's no reason to pay the extra 10 points for the use of the Str8 sunder ammo as the previously existing option has not been removed... Runefyre
....but probably will be removed when the new red book is released. I've just resigned myself to using the new entry only for my quad mortar needs, 'cause that's what FW probably intends, and so I'm not as disappointed when they remove the old one. Ishagu
Hmmm, I'm not really that sure. It would be nice for them to neaten things up, but the Rapier entry will probably be copy and paste. Certainly, until the new book comes out it definitely still exists... Runefyre
I hope you're right, it would be nice for my iron warriors if I can use the old pricing. I guess it comes down to the individual (or gaming group) to decide whether they want to allow the old entry or not. Hesh Kadesh
I'll point you to the previous comments regarding how Quad Mortars shouldn't be able to take them in the first place. We don't need this RAW abuse discussion again, it's nothing new, and there is even more proof here that Quad Mortars cannot take Shatter Shells in the first place. Atia
Hmmm, I'm not really that sure. It would be nice for them to neaten things up, but the Rapier entry will probably be copy and paste. Certainly, until the new book comes out it definitely still exists... It doesn't matters - if they allow both entries they will add up points to make both the same price ^.^ (it's like saying, 'till it's stated Legiones Astartes have to pay the new price for Castellax i'll use the old price - that's not how it's intended and got fixed already in the FAQ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320336-rapier-quad-mortar-and-quad-support-battery/#findComment-4335171 Share on other sites
Brofist
This also happened with the updated rules for Castallax which FW had to FAQ (there were two entries, and the one in the Legion book was not updated) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320336-rapier-quad-mortar-and-quad-support-battery/#findComment-4335568 Share on other sites
Excessus
Besides, the old rules don't have access to phosphex shells...so I'll go with the new ones... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320336-rapier-quad-mortar-and-quad-support-battery/#findComment-4336448 Share on other sites
