So looking at that from my phone with the brightness turned down, at first glance I thought that contemptor was a space marine, and thought, "that looks smaller than a thunder hawk, why would it be more expensive?!" Nope, when I realized that was a contemptor, my jaw dropped.

And keep in mind that the Sokar pattern is the smallest type of Stormbird.

It's pooping Rhinos. I need to find the rules on how much transport cap this thing has.

according to what I've heard: 50 model transport size and you can take a dread or rhino in it

As I recall they're each worth 20 model's worth of space; plus with the rhinos they count as 20 regardless of the models in the rhino; Transport Matryoshka doll!

Its in book 5 Tempest.

Super Heavy Flyer, Av 14/13/12 iirc, 2 void shields, 5+ invulnerable, armored ceramite, 12 Hull Points.

50 transport and can carry a fully loaded rhino counting as 12.

Has 5 turret mounted Twin-Linked Lascannons, buncha missiles (afb, I forget what they are) and can be upgraded to be able to call in an unlimited amount of S:D Orbital Bombardments which, if taken, brings its points cost north of 1k.

It can also project its void shields outwards from its hull a few inches (6 or 12, iirc) to protect the disembarking units.

Bunch of other upgrades too.

I'm glad they have the transport capacity being 50. that's at least half a battle company.

I said this before when this was first shown in the HH weekender thread. It just looks too small from how they are described in the BL HH books. It's just a reinforced Thunderhawk gunship and it looks like it could barely hold 2 rhinos inside of it.

I was hoping it was going to be bigger honestly.

This is the Sokar-Pattern Stormbird. The Smallest and newest Stormbird Variant introduced by the time of the Heresy.

And now you understand why the Marines in the HH novels hated the Thunderhawks and called them spit-and-paper thin, barely put together boxes. They got to ride in THESE before.
