Oh gosh when is this starting? Geez I need to get my stuff together and actually PARTICIPATE this time. I think I missed my pledge last year... So much stuff on my bench and I've almost worked out what I want to do with my base Alpha Legion armor.

1st of May iirc from last year. Gates are open for everyone for one month.

For ETL purposes, the HH faction can only use existing FW lists. These include apart from the Legions, any Mechanicum units that may be included (not only Tagmata) as well as Solar Auxilia or Renegades or whatever. They cannot use 40k Codices.

On the other hand, AdMech forum of the IFOR faction can use any Mechanicum unit from GW and FW including HH. This is admittedly an irregularity and has to do with the fact that the AdMech forum was for years the only place to discuss anything Mechanicum accross all eras/settings. It still is that place although now one can discuss 30k Mechanicum in the AoD forum as well. So tradition prevails....

Frankly, in real terms, this is not so much a problem as with the "Relic" rule a great deal of 30k stuff can now be used by 40k armies anyway.

Skitarii & Cult Mechanicus are 40K... at least until FW gives us something in 30K for them.

The dates are not set yet. But traditionally it's either May 1st or May 15th...

May 1st to July 31st = 92 days

May 15th to August 15th = 93 days -- ooh, pick this one. we get an extra day! biggrin.png

Yes I know but if you use cyber augmented in the militia list you can proxy skitarii as your militia as thats the whole point of the lists, they also count as sworn Brethren to Mechanicum.

If and that's IF you wish to do them as militia I don't see the problem as the entries cover everything from grenadiers using plasma melta etc to recons having sniper rifles.

Things such as dune crawlers probably won't have an entry they can fulfill but straight skitarii should be fine within the etl counts as proxy rules.

I did not know this. ohmy.png Thank you.

The militia lists can cover anything from beast men to squats to cultists and renegade and heretics, it's the most customized list to suit everyone.

So don't feel bad it's not widely used and im trying to get more people to see the benefits

I saw it somewhere on here but I've been really wanting a guard army to go along with my night lords and am planning on getting vostroyanss to represent the imperial army.

Are we allowed to do units from multiplie armies? Like have some legion started and then cult and militia?

Just FYI, the slot is May 1st- August 1st. ;)

Not saying that that's the dates for this year, but if the start date settles at May 1st, the end date would be Aug 1st (like last year). The Inner Circle thinks of everything... :D

Yeah well, like I said in a similar thread in the Chaos area, the "count-as" is open to... overuse. If you plan to build a Skitarii army then you should join the AdMech forum of the IFOR faction. On the other hand if you were to make a HH Militia using Skitarii models (because that was your project all along) then of course that's fine. The ETL is about hard choices (among other things), just be true to yourself.

If you want to support a faction, but your current project is of another faction, well, that's the tough choice I was talking about. The spirit of the ETL is that you should be supporting the faction for which you build the minis for - only you can be the judge of that. "Count-as" can become too elastic to justify about everything, so just be true to yourself and make a hard choice.

Yes. :)

HH is one Faction in the ETL so if a unit is contained in the FW books lists (black or red) then it's a legit choice.

For ETL? Yes. It doesn't have to be a useable army, it simply has to conform to the point system used by the specific subforum's rulebooks. So AoD has access to the entirety of the Black Books, Chaos has access to CSM, Daemons and IA13, etc.

I really stoked about being able to enter this year, finally having the motivation to actually paint a chunky part of my Word Bearer resin, though I have a question.

I have a Mhara Gal that I primed and then started the first stages of the metallic red airbrush on, is it acceptable to pledge him as he is or would it be excluded as he does actually have a base airbrush on him?

Cheers

Saa.......

........or something like that

Hmmm once again I'd refer to last year's etl for all you q&a that's not to say that this year could have a rules shift but just to be safe I'd have him presented on a new base.

But that's just my opinion.

Now boys and girls uncle Kurama just realized that were only a couple of days out from April.

Which means Captain semper going to be busy checking his lists and checking them twice as ETL V is going to be interesting as it could be Chaos winning thrice!

So gather your brushes put away your dice as the month of May is coming and this year we will all be nice, whether chaos, or wolf, angel or knight were all here to pledge and put up a fight.

For when else do we have time to paint other than etl and it's secured date. So prepare yourselves and don't procrastinate.

So gather your plastic your resin your glue and thank uncle Olis and Kurama for telling you what to do

Well guys here's another reason to be motivated!!!

So etl is coming so I thought I'd build something different this year, now tge catch is I don't care what you choose, pick a legion and a name for this guy and he will be painted for etl and sent to whoever out of the the chosen Legion votes completes the highest points in etl.

so if you say pick Ultramarines and paint 300 points and Ultramarines gets the most votes you along with everyone who voted could win this Kurama original!

Who said we couldn't be bribed?

Great start buddy. Add some cool chaos bitz and you are ready for the ETL ;) :P

A month to decide on my pledge.

Oh my oh my, what to choose? A new army, or add to an existing army?

Do I splooge on an entire Mechanicum army and go for that? Or do I go for bulkig up on dedicated transports for existing things? Or do I add some extra choppy to my Auxilia?

Oh the choices..so many choices.

If you can't decide, you could also do some cool Chaos Daemons :P ;)
