Atia
Howdy Guys and Girls! Anyone knows what blue(s) I could use to get that shade/tone? (Ignore the source of the pics please, it's the only one I have for that blue shade >.>) It's a bit hard to see since it's pretty good weathered, but maybe someone has an idea ^_^? NovemberIX
It looks like maybe temple guard/teclis blue shot through an airbrush onto a white primer to my eye. Atia
thanks buddies ^.^ It looks like maybe temple guard/teclis blue shot through an airbrush onto a white primer to my eye. the bad thing about GW paints - they don't have all of their blues as airbrush paints, so i would need to thinn the normal ones down :/ Vallejo Game Color Night Blue (Citadel Cantor blue?) -> Vallejo Model Air Blue -> Vallejo Model Air Light Blue? Uh, that may work! Will order them and try that, thanks ^.^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320609-help-me-find-the-right-blue/#findComment-4342552 Share on other sites
Atia
Update ... The good thing is, I found the model in FW's IA Masterclass volume 2 - the bad thing, they don't say how exactly they do the blue (but thansk FW, I totally didn't knew that blue and orange are on the opposite site of the colour wheel >.> ....) ... they use Mordian Blue as basecolour for another blue model in that army, but that has a different shade >.< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320609-help-me-find-the-right-blue/#findComment-4342975 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
I'd say it's a 1:1 mix of Mordian Blue and white sponged on and then more and more white added to it. Vallejo have the Extra Opaque Heavy Blue which is basically the old Mordian Blue in a dropper bottle. More lighter colour sponged on there where I normally would do zenithal highlightes?
