Cry-Havoc the Wolves Cometh! (FW news)

The chest pieces are more subtle than I expected, but I am anxious to see what Fw gives to the Rout

Is...isnt that a good thing tongue.png?

As long as there aren't a bazillion wolf heads on each mini it will be a step in the right direction ;)

I feel like I need to add wolf  fur and bone totems to these guys just to piss people off.

I dont think I need more infantry for my wolves which is fine cause it means  I can wait till the special units are revealed

I might very well make a pack or two or tactical marines to use as vet tacs though.

In my opinion, no it's not a good thing.

There are enough detractors of the Wolf image, but I'm not one of them. I'd rather they have the pelts and bone necklaces the they are known for and we've seen in the novels so far.

By scrubbing the very thing that makes them look Wolfy, they are robbed of their identity.

Just my .02 of course

Well, we'll see. For Joe-Schmoe the Tac Marine, less pronounced heraldry is just fine (and it saves you the pain of having to paint so much detail on Tac Mooks).

For a Terminator Unit or Primarch Bodyguard, I would also be disappointed if they weren't covered in Bas Reliefs detailing their Sagas, Runes, Totems, etc.

Not just unit but special Consuls and HQs, Wargear, Vehicles maybe and even how they change up the standard Legion Units which they've been said will be a thing.

The Next FW event (in Amsterdam, iirc) will probably have more info on Inferno since Retribution is out now and its slated to be next *fingers crossed*

Assuming they have tactical marines. Honestly I'm really curious if they will go along with the whole Blood Claw/ Grey Hunters/ Long Fangs units or if they change that. Of all the legions Wolves are the one they could do nearly anything with.

For me personally I like all the bling. I even like the Thunderwolves lol

I still think we are nuts if we expect FW to break out of the mold of "a handful of units, 2 ish characters and a Primarch" for SW. I know they said SW would be super different from 40k, to me that means, hey they are a Legion, they act like a Legion, here's some unique stuff, have fun!

The whole Thunderwolf debate we wont have though. FW have already said we wont have any wolves running around. Im glad they brought back the SW terminator upgrades though. Love the sculpts!

The thing is as different as they will be they still only need upgrade sets. So not a massive amount of work. Not like they are going to have whole new models for the wolves. They still are space marines after all

I dont mind the pelts and such. I mind the skulls as rifle optics... Im personally a big fan of the metal GH and BC figs. Necklace, pouches, diamond gem, knife, clearly a Space Wolf.

Most of the Legion upgrade kits are quite subtle in actual Legion iconography and whatnot. At this point in history, Marines are en masse, their armour is mass produced, and while the Wolves were into primitivism more than most, I'm not sure they'd be covered in fetishes and whatnot like their much more backwards 40K counterparts. That's just the way I see it, and I'd think people are more than welcome to use the 40K upgrade bits instead (torsos, pads, etc.)...

Agreed. I don't like the attaching of wolf skulls to the weapons myself, but think the TWC chainswords and bolters are amazing

DEAR FORGEWORLD,

GIVE ME SHOULDER PELTS!

(And Tyrant Siege Terminators)

THANKS

CTHONIA

On a serious note, I would love some Wolf Pelts for my Sons of Horus, I just hope that if they are brought in, they are not covered in fetishes and runes and the like.
