Contemptor arm + regular dreadnought shoulder?

Recommended Posts

I think the scale is a little different, but I'm not sure. I'd be interested in the answer as well, as I've been mulling over the reverse of this (i.e. adding "normal" dreadnought weapons to Contemptors, especial Ironclad and Siege dreadnought weapons) for a while.

I just tested it out and the fit in the shoulder socket is just fine between the contemptor and the regular FW dread arms.

The scale on some weapons will be off: as you can see, the Kheres is a bit long, but the multimelta and plasma cannon won't be too bad.  The contemptor autocannon will be way out of scale, though.  It's all more an issue because the regular dread is considerably shorter than a contemptor.

FW Ironclad w/chainfist, for reference:

Hmm. Obviously in the normal Dreadnoughts a good portion of the weapon is housed within the shoulder which reduces the overall length, and I think you're absolutely correct in saying that the height difference exaggerates the scale difference of the weapons. I think these look a little front-heavy, if that makes any sense.
