Best Generic Terminators

For any legion that has some sort of gimmick that adds str or wound role that combos with axes for a 2+ to wound, just take power fists. You always get the 2+, cause instant death to most characters and 2 wound terminators and can threaten vehicles for just 5 more points. Don't gimp yourself so you can take advantage of a rule.

 

 

As for Raven Guard. I like tartos with with combi weapons and power axes. makes them S6 on the charge which is really good with rad grenades.

 

You need a way to deepstrike, plus a forgelord for rad grenades? How many points are going into making this unit passably good when say NL can do the same job with teleporting combi-fists for way cheaper

Well, to be fair, Rad Grenades are a strong force multiplier for any unit. The Forge Lord is easily one of the better Consuls. He's among the cheaper ones, he gets "free" artificer armour and an extra power-fist swing from the servo arm, and he gets access to a huge amount of unique equipment: rad grenades, cyber familiar, graviton gun, cortex controller, nuncio vox, conversion beamer, etc.  Plus he can be a compulsory choice.

 

Raven Guard Terminators get S6 power axes on the charge naturally, like Justaerin do. But yeah usually I still make with the power fists.

Sure they come with it naturally, but the whole point was that in most cases terminators are best with power fists and building them to try and take advantage of legion melee buffs is wasted compared to the base power of the powerfist without needing support characters or anything else

Personally I've got a soft spot for IH cataphrati with Ferris in the army t4.5 with 2+/4++/6fnp has high survivability I regularly use them as foot sloggers
