Sneaky jerk tactic? (Breacher charge)

So I was reviewing the breacher siege squad after a tired look through my book and for some reason jumped over the breacher charge. Now I found it kind of funny that you can essentially use it as a S8 AP2 weapon at initiative that will have a 50% of hitting exactly, and a 1/3 chance of hitting if you fail to hit with your WS. It's hilarious in that you can kill other AA sgts or possibly other non AP2 at Initiative wielding characters with this humble weapon.

It's not gauranteed of course, but there's still hilarity to it :P on top of that, as a SoH player, you should take another special ccw like a LC or power sword for merciless fighters after your breaching charge  while the wording means the charge replaces your normal attacks, Merciless fighters is a non normal attack lol.

Just food for thought.

I used one in a challenge last time I played and it killed 2 justerinis and wounded a T5 HQ character. If you know you're going up against multi wound 2+ models then it can be worth it. 10 points made me hesitate at first, but at 5 points it would be an auto include for me. Since the sweet spot is probably 2-3 points difference I plan on regularly taking them.

It's pretty entertaining.

I always pay the 10pts for one on my Archmagos Reductor. I've gotten pretty good at breaking him off of his Servitor squad like a little MIRV and launching him into a juicy unit that typically just bounces off of him. In the rare occasions I lose combat, oh no! Stubborn LD10.

Wait a single turn for stuff to pile in, then hot drop that demo charge like a rap battle mic.

Best I've gotten so far was clipping eight Ravenguard from a tactical squad that had surrounded my Archmagos. I missed with his CC hit roll, so the template is instead centered over the model that deployed it. Magos brushed it off on his Mechanica Protectiva, while the Ravenguard tacticals dogpiling him were not so lucky.
