Wolf Lord Loki
I was looking at these as a possible alternative wulfen. http://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=565 I much prefer the older idea of the wulfen to the extreme versions we have now and i was wondering how they compared in scale to a regular spacewolf or wulfen. Wispy
those don't look extreme to you? GWs are tame compared to those. i guess they are slightly reminiscent to the old Eye of Terror Wulfen, but Puppets has amped the concept to the point where they look like apes wearing power armour. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
they look like somebody forced the old Universal Wolf man into shoddy power armor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320798-puppets-war-werewolves-comparison/#findComment-4346413 Share on other sites
sturguard
I have some of the bits. I will warn you the arms are very skinny and although the heads look cool on the website (I bought them right)- when I got them modeled up and painted, I actually removed them all, they just looked too were wolfish. That is just my experience however everyone has different tastes. Jarl Deathwolf
I also purchased the arms and heads, but I seem to have had a bit more luck. The arms *are* a bit skinny, and there are only about two poses with them, one of them being a kind of awkward position that seems to have tried to represent them transforming. Besides the four Mark of the Wulfen I made for the Grey Hunter packs, what I ended up doing was taking some CSM parts, SW parts and the extra werewolf bits and combined them. Half have bolters or pistols, some have chain axes, or are brandishing CSM heads. If you use the arms sparingly it ends up looking pretty good. I'm pretty happy with the heads, but I would've preferred more howling or snarling. However, I'll have to touch them up since I made them several years ago, and I need to update them in accordance with the new Wulfen. Still, I prefer the puppetwars to the GW version. I'll probably just buy the TH/SS and the great axes and add them to my existing models if possible. Vykryl
Anyone know it there are any decent 3rd party? I recalled some made by a guy who made a set of thunderwolves (in the fillopeans maybe?) Mythicast most likely. Unfortunately they seem to be out of business. Did have 4 nice looking Wulfen out of their 5 options. Digital Mogwai
Spellcrow Miniatures do some great Wulfen parts...(Arms, Heads, etc) http://www.spellcrow.com/feral-wolves-space-knights-heads-p-393.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320798-puppets-war-werewolves-comparison/#findComment-4353554 Share on other sites
Wispy
Spellcrow Miniatures do some great Wulfen parts...(Arms, Heads, etc) http://www.spellcrow.com/feral-wolves-space-knights-heads-p-393.html I love the Spell Crow wulfen and highly recommend sending them dollars. Shipping took a long time (the minis come from Eastern Europe and getting sent to Canada and all), but I had a great customer experience with them. I bought their frost swords. When shipping was late, I e-mailed them thinking it might have been lost in the mail. They sent me a new one at no cost... only for the first batch to arrive the next day (not lost at all at all). I didn't just get the frost swords I ordered, but also some Wulfen heads and some fur capes and pelts as free samples. Of course, that meant there was also a replacement package coming! I e-mailed them back letting them know I received the package and if they wanted me to return the replacement package to sender. They told me to keep them, free of charge. TL;DR spell crow is great and very generous. Though I was thinking about a second order of wulfen parts, I figure it would be better to make my own. Though I will wait to see the quality of my first order. What did you think about their wulfen parts any good? Wispy
I only got some of their feral heads. They look good - consistant with GWs wulfen but without the crazy super-saiyan hair.
