ronin_cse
Hey All! Quick question: what examples are there in the fluff and novels of actually seeing the Daemon Primarchs in action? I know there is a space marine battles book that involves Mortarion and the Emperor's Gift has Angron in it (haven't read either yet), are there others? Sandlemad
Darmon Fulgrim appears briefly in Angel Exterminatus and Vengeful Spirit. Angron ascends at the end of Betrayer so you get a glimpse of him there. Other than that, Magnus appears in Battle of the Fang, as well as briefly in one of William King's old Ragnar Blackmane books, I think Grey Hunter. Legatus
A hundred yeas after the Scouring Daemon Fulgrim leads the Emperor's Children against the world Thessala, where they are confronted by Guilliman and the Ultramarines. At that point Fulgrim is described having a serpentine body and multiple arms, with poisoned blades in each hand. Fulgrim and Guilliman fight, but they are obscured by clouds of heady musk. When the musk clears, Guilliman is lying on the ground with a single poisoned wound at his throat, while there is no sign of Fulgrim. This was described in the Ultramarines Index Astartes article from 3rd Edition (not the one from 1st where they are a 3rd Founding Chapter). The 2nd Edition Codex Ultramarines had described Guilliman's fatal neck wound, but I don't think it had mentioned a fight with Fulgrim. ronin_cse
Awesome, thanks! I have already read those mention HH novels but I'll have to check our Battle of the Fang as well when I get a chance. Been ages since I read the Blackmane books so certainly didn't remember Magnus in those. Fulgrim being the one to take out Guilliman is pretty interesting and something I didn't know already....I wonder if they will keep that as cannon when the end times come to 40k and they resurrect all the primarchs soon (I can dream right?) ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320884-daemon-primarchs/#findComment-4349300 Share on other sites

Grab the Omnibus including Battle of the Fang and The Hunt for Magnus. It should be fairly cheap on Amazon, actually.
